European Union is seeking proposals from organisations for a country based support scheme with an aim to contribute, through supporting civil society organisations, to the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms and to contribute to the strengthening of the international framework for the promotion and protection of human rights, justice and the rule of law.
The call is divided into two lots.
Lot 1: Strengthening civil society’s involvement in the making, implementation and monitoring of human rights policies at local and national levels and supporting human right defenders.
Objective: Strengthening civil society’s involvement and Supporting Human Rights Defenders
Lot 2: Promotion and protection of human rights of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers
Objective: To address any situation where there is a need for promoting, protecting and monitoring of the rights of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in the making, implementation and monitoring of policies at local, national and international levels or where violation of their rights is observed.
Any grant requested under this call for proposal for both Lot 1 and Lot 2 must fall between EUR 60,000 to EUR 300,000.
Actions must take place in Turkey.
Lot 1: The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 12 months nor exceed 36 months.
Lot 2: The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 18 months nor exceed 36 months.
In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
be civil society organisation and
be a legal person and
be non-profit-making and
be non-governmental organisation and
be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary and
The lead applicant must act with co-applicant(s) as specified hereafter. Co-applicants participate in designing and implementing the action, and the costs they incur are eligible in the same way as those incurred by the lead applicant.
The lead applicant and its co-applicant(s) may act with affiliated entity(ies) that include:
Entities directly or indirectly controlled by an applicant (daughter companies or first-tier subsidiaries). They may also be entities controlled by an entity controlled by an applicant (granddaughter companies or second-tier subsidiaries) and the same applies to further tiers of control;
Entities directly or indirectly controlling the applicant (parent companies). Likewise, they may be entities controlling an entity controlling the applicant;
Entities under the same direct or indirect control as the applicant (sister compan
