Rahat Kadan Nav Jeevan Social Welfare Society was started with the commitment to work towards the upliftment of vulnerable children and women and give them a new identity as full members of the community. The organization was founded by Mr. Ram Prasad Sahu who realized that an organization needs to be started to address the problems faced by orphans and other children in need. With this aim, Rahat Kadan Nav Jeevan Social Welfare Society was started in 2010 in Rewa which is one of the most backward districts in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Rahat Kadan began its journey by addressing the problems of destitute women and children- a key need identified by the organization in the area.
In time, the organization realized that to provide these women and children and the community at large the chance of sustainable development, it would have to adopt a holistic approach and thus expanded its work into other sectors namely Health, Education, Food & Nutrition along with advocacy to save the girl child.
