Rotary India Literacy Mission (RILM)

Call for Expression of Interest

Rotary India Literacy Mission (RILM) https://rotaryteach.org/ has set a goal of making 5 crore adults literate by the end of the year 2027 and another 5 crore by 2030. This is synchronized with the Nav Bharat Shiksha Karyakram of the Government of India, where the government similarly plans to make 5 crore adults literate by 2027. The Government of India and RILM plan to make 10 crore adults literate by the end of 2027.

The model of intervention is called “Vidya” or Each One Teach Many (EOTM), in which a center-based model, a community-based Akshar Sathi (Teacher) will identify non-literate adults in the community and run adult literacy classes at a common place: https://adultliteracy.rotaryteach.org/vidya   

For the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal, RILM is looking for partner organizations who can implement the Vidya program. Interested NGOs/civil society organizations and other similar entities are encouraged to apply.

Responsibility of Implementing Partner 

Survey to identify Adult learners and appointment of Akshar Sathi’s (the center teacher responsible for teaching adult learners)

Register all Adult learners on the RILM portal

Teaching adult learners according to the methodology developed by RILM

Update attendance and photos of adult learners daily on the RILM portal

Upload 30 (thirty) sessions progress report for each adult learner

Upload 60 (sixty) sessions completion report for each adult learner
