Field Associate Kushinagar - Feeding India

Who we are?

Feeding India (FI) is a social impact organization committed to reducing malnutrition and ending hunger in India. We work toward this mission by designing large-scale systemic interventions to strengthen government welfare programs and providing essential meal support to underserved communities. Feeding India also collaborates with low-income schools, anganwadis and credible non-profit partners to serve vulnerable communities.

About the Program

As part of its large-scale system transformation work, Feeding India works with elected officials, state and central government to run targeted interventions that help in reducing child and maternal malnutrition.

Under our large-scale system transformation work, Feeding India has collaborated with the Kushinagar District Administration to conduct the FI - Anganwadi Nutrition Program in Kushinagar, UP under which FI is providing supplementary nutrition products to malnourished children in Kushinagar along with the capacity building of anganwadi workers in various blocks across Kushinagar district.

Act as the district lead, overseeing project implementation in the assigned blocks, ensuring alignment with the overall project objectives, providing on-site technical support to frontline workers, overseeing distribution of FI-Supplementary Nutrition Products to AWWs. Identify the design and quality related issues, discuss them with the Program Manager, and propose field-level solutions.

Work closely with the District Project Officer and ensure regular planning and execution of the project activities in the assigned block aligned with the district plan.

Liaise and collaborate with government department and local authorities viz Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD) and Department of Health and Family Welfare (DH&FW) and District Administration to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.

Conduct training programs for frontline workers (Anganwadi workers & helpers, self-help groups etc.), government officials, and project staff in the assigned blocks.

Conduct behavior change campaigns (BCC), village health sanitation nutrition day (VHSND) sessions and community mobilization activities to promote community based management of malnutrition and food fortification in the assigned blocks.

Design monitoring and evaluation mechanism for the existing programs/new interventions

Conduct field assessments and surveys to gather and analyse data related to the program in the assigned blocks.

Prepare and timely submit high-quality reports on project-related activities and outcomes etc.

Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager, in line with project demands.

Responsible for overall program operations and management within the assigned blocks.

Perform other duties as and when required from time to time.

High performing candidates may potentially get the opportunity to work on multiple assignments in their second year at the organization

We are looking for someone who is:

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Home Science (Foods and Human Nutrition), Public Health, Social Work, Social Science, Anthropology or any related field.

1-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in nutrition / public health program implementation with a reputed organization.

Prior working experience with ICDS/School programs and communities preferably CMAM/WASH or nutritional programs

Prior experience of working with the government departments (ICDS, DWCD, Health and Nutrition/or MDM) will be preferred.

Prior working experience in CMAM programs or in nutrition programs, particularly in the treatment and prevention of SAM and MAM children or/and strong knowledge of food fortification strategies and techniques will be preferred.
