Position Title                                      : Rural Agriculture Expert

Location                                             : Mumbai

Job Overview: The Rural Agriculture Expert will be a key player in guiding the foundation's initiatives in integrated rural development across various villages in the country. The expert will leverage extensive experience in soil management, cultivation techniques, water management, and the harvesting and processing of agro commodities. This role requires at least 15 years of hands-on experience working in diverse terrains and climates across the country.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement sustainable agricultural practices tailored to specific regional conditions.

Recommend appropriate soil management techniques to improve fertility and crop yields.

Design crop rotation and diversification strategies to ensure long-term soil health.

Provide guidance on modern and traditional cultivation techniques that can enhance productivity and sustainability.

Advise on optimal harvesting times and methods to maximize yield and quality.

Advise on efficient processing and storage of agro commodities to minimize post-harvest losses.

Collaborate with local agricultural universities and research institutions to stay updated on the latest advancements in agricultural practices.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Agriculture, Agronomy, Soil Science, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 15 years of on-ground experience in rural agricultural development across various terrains in the country.

Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of soil management, cultivation techniques, water management, and agro-commodity processing.

Familiarity with both modern agricultural technologies and traditional farming methods.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, conduct training sessions, and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. 

Analytical Skills: Strong ability to conduct pilots and apply findings to improve practices. 

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
