1. About the position

Title Occupational Therapist.

Reporting to HOD/Lead Health.

Location KIRAN Society / Health Department.

Salary (Negotiable).

Relevant Experience Minimum 3years

2. Background – About organization and project

KIRAN Society is a non-profit and non-political organization established in Sept 1990 working for the holistic development of differently able children and youth. And also working for the children and youth of the marginalized groups.

Health Department: KIRAN’s health department works to optimize the functional skills of children and youths with neuro-disabilities through institutional and community-based rehabilitation services.

3. Overall function and responsibility

• To perform assessments related to occupational and physiotherapy.

• To develop an Individualized Rehabilitation Plan for the assigned children.

• To provide occupational therapy to assigned children from KIRAN’s School and OPD Unit.

• To provide sensory integration therapy to needy children.

• To give services in different units of the rehabilitation department as needed.

• To refer children to medical doctor as per their needs and follow her direction.

• To care for therapy materials, trampoline, and other equipment.

• Arrangement of appliances and materials related to ADL and school activities.

• Hand splint fabrication.

4a. Key duties and responsibilities –

To do the assessment and provide therapy to assigned children of KIRAN school and OPD unit.

To provide therapeutic interventions for hand function, sensory integration and gross motor function.

To make the monthly/ yearly planning & reporting of the unit.

4b. Knowledge management

Report writing skills in English.

Computer Skills.

5. Supervisory responsibilities – Assistant therapists of the assigned unit.

6. Educational and professional experience – BOT/MOT

7. Language skills- Hindi & English

8. Travel requirement- In KIRAN’s Community-Based Rehabilitation area.

9. Other specific skills requirements – Multi-professional teamwork /parents dealing skills
