Job Description - Qualitative Research (Consultant)

The candidate will be working for following programme:
Programme: School Hygiene Education Programme was launched in 2014 under the umbrella of Dettol Banega Swasth India across 6 states. The programme designed for school children integrates a comprehensive hygiene curriculum with educational materials, engaging games, a dedicated hygiene park, soap banks and a platform for a child parliament. The programme has completed a successful 10 years and has expanded its reach to 21 states and one union territory.
Objectives: Our primary objective is to assess the impact of School Hygiene Education Program in improving the Knowledge, Attitude, Behaviour and Practice of students on handwashing, safe drinking, and sanitation. Furthermore, we will also delve into the challenges related to menstrual health and hygiene among young girls, and the impact of water stress on the lives of women in the community.
Position: Qualitative Research (Consultant)
Minimum eligibility:
1. A Post graduate /Ph.D degree in recognised disciplines of Social science/ Public health/ population studies. A doctoral degree from a related profession will also be considered.
2. Should possess at least 5 years of research experience in qualitative research around health and hygiene, with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
3. Should have proven competency in leading and managing qualitative study from end-to-end.
4. Experience in WASH, climate change, water-borne diseases, and health is desirable.
5. Experience in data analysis on Atlas Ti, NVivo and similar qualitative software
Job responsibilities:
1. Design a qualitative study for Pan India on health and hygiene.
2. Develop qualitative guidelines on WASH, menstrual health & hygiene issues, and the effect of water stress on women’s lives.
3. Provide training to investigators and ensure data quality during data collection.
4. Analyse the interviews in qualitative software, interpret the findings emerging from qualitative enquiries, and develop a storyline out of the findings.
5. Visualise the qualitative findings and develop the presentation deck.
6. Work in partnership with other partners (donors, implementing partners, government etc)
This position will be full-time, in a consultant role, and the preferred location is Delhi NCR. Candidates out of Delhi NCR Should be willing to travel to Delhi as and when required.
Time duration: 90 -120 days
