Evidence Action is a non-profit dedicated to scaling proven, cost-effective interventions to alleviate poverty. In India, its technical consultant EAII Advisors Private Limited, provides technical assistance to national and select state government’s ministries of health, education, and women and child development to implement the school and anganwadi based National Deworming Day program to improve children’s health, education, and long-term development.
The India program invites applications for the short-term consultant position for supporting STH Prevalence Survey to be based at Tripura
POSITION SUMMARY
The Survey Consultant must have a commitment to working in the development sector in India, and a strong understanding on survey methodologies, data collection, quality control, supportive supervision, data management, and research in NTDs. The consultant will support Evidence Action team for monitoring and ensuring quality deliverables during survey. The consultant would require to coordinate with different stakeholders to ensure timely closure of survey. The consultant will support Evidence Action Team with all logistics and administration to carry out Prevalence Survey. The incumbent will have a good command in local language(s). The consultant will report to State Program Manager, Tripura
Job Title: Consultant- STH Prevalence Survey Employment Status: Contractual for up to 30 days (maximum) Duty Station: Tripura
Regular Travel required to remote areas during Prevalence Survey Reporting to: State Program Manager, Tripura.
The specific responsibilities of the consultant include:
• Assist and coordinate closely with all partners (Epidemiology, Technical and field partner) and Evidence Action National and State Office to ensure smooth implementation of survey and support to ensure it happens as per plan and requirements;
• Support the design and facilitation of training workshops to build capacity of field staff on data collection tools and quality assurance;
• Perform and be in field during entire survey duration to ensure the quality of data collected by surveyors and guide supervisors on adhering quality protocol;
• Ensure adherence of high-quality data through field data protocols, careful back and spot checks of logical consistency and responses and debrief team on gap area and support them to rectify the gaps;
• Work with partners to ensure appropriateness and adequacy of data entry and the statistical analysis of the prevalence survey data;
• Develop daily monitoring plan for field visit and submit one day before, communicate and coordinate on daily basis to keep update on field activities with Evidence Action Survey lead;
• Support the analysis and triangulation of qualitative and quantitative monitoring data;
• Support in transfer of samples from school to courier services;
• Support technical partners in efficiently disposing of biological waste;
• Support in logistic and administrative reporting, if required;
• Any other task assigned by Survey Lead.

• At least 3 years relevant experience including demonstrated experience working on large scale surveys.
• Postgraduate degree (Public Health/ Sociology/Statistic/MSW) and significant technical experience in handling health programs.
• Strong critical thinking and judgment to quickly identify problems and devise solutions, as well as escalate matters as needed.
• Effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and partners at all levels to achieve desired results.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Excellent analytical skills and action-oriented outputs.
• Strong written and oral communicator.
• Good level of proficiency in Ms Office and documentation
• Ability to design survey tools, supportive supervision mechanism
• Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of field team
• Strong interpersonal skills and managerial capacity
• Fluency in Local Language is essential.
