Job Title : Programme Coordinator - Coastal Risk Reduction

Department : Emergency Management and Developmental Programs

Reporting Line : Programme Manager

Position Location : Morbi district, Gujarat

JOB SCOPE:

AKAH India is looking to recruit motivated development practitioners to support the Environment Sustainability Portfolio of Emergency Management & Developmental Programs. Programme Coordinator - Environmental Sustainability will provide overall support in planning and execution of all programs under this portfolio. This portfolio will include donor supported projects on thematic areas such as biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation practices, Plantation drives, disaster preparedness training. S/he will be responsible for day-to-day coordination to ensure effective implementation of all project activities and support in preparation of Annual and Quarterly Work Plans, Budget, Financial Reports, etc under the strict deadlines and within approved budget while maintaining optimum quality.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Support Programme Manager in ensuring smooth and effective implementation of all the projects under environmental sustainability.

• Support the team of development professionals i.e., Programme Managers, to ensure timely and quality programme deliverables.

• Regularly review and monitor the project and ensure that the teams follow the project guidelines.

• Responsible for design development, project coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of the program.

• Conduct regular field visits to support the project implementation process and prepare periodic progress reports as required.

• Conduct appropriate field research to determine needs and contexts, establishing strategic direction, setting objectives, planning detailed activities, monitoring progress, providing problem solutions and course correction.

• Support in developing the new partnership linkages and ensure for new avenues under Coastal Risk Reduction Programs with various public and private agencies.

• Develop new concept notes and project proposals in the areas of Coastal Risk Reduction.

• Maintain good relationships with target communities, relevant government authorities, Non-Government Organizations and other relevant stakeholders.

• Ensure that project documents are complete and maintained appropriately.

• Produce relevant presentations and documentation to key groups and relevant stakeholders.

SPECIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):

Education: Master’s in Environmental Management, Disaster Management, Social Work or other social sciences

Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Social Sector.
