About Parivartan Trust: Parivartan Trust is a not-for-profit, community-based mental health organization founded in 1991. We aim to help people with mental health and addiction issues live better lives, free from stigma and with access to affordable care.
Role Description: We need a Social Worker to lead our Saiyam Project, which is an anti-addiction drive in schools of Pune. You'll plan and manage all project activities, guide the team, and ensure our work is high-quality and effective.
Key Responsibilities:
• Raising Awareness: Educating students about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and other addictive substances, and helping them understand the long-term consequences.
• Providing Psychological Support: Offering mental and emotional support to students who may be struggling with addiction or are at risk of substance abuse.
• Early Intervention: Identifying early signs of substance abuse in students and intervening to provide appropriate help
• Undertaking activities assigned by the project in charge, which include but are not limited to:
o Collaborating with Parents and Teachers: Working closely with parents and teachers to create a supportive environment and ensure students are steered away from addiction
o Organizing Prevention Programs: Conducting workshops, sessions, and programs in school to prevent substance abuse and promote healthy lifestyles
o Providing Resources: Offering information and resources to students and their families to help them seek professional treatment or counselling if needed
o Community Collaboration: Working with external organizations like rehabilitation centers and community programs to provide comprehensive support for students.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Master's degree in Social Work, public health or related field
• Prior experience in working in the field of Addiction Disorders
• 2-3 years of experience in community health specifically in mental health is desirable.
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in data analysis and report writing
• Fluency in Marathi
