Industry Engagement Manager, Youth Program

Location: Delhi/Bangalore.

About Role:

The Industry Engagement Manager for Youth Program will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between industrial needs and the training in provided at Industrial Training Institutes. This role focuses on developing a strategy to demonstrate effective industry engagement, ensuring that training programs are demand-driven and that industries have a committed interest in the training and development of ITI students. The manager will lead advocacy and implementation efforts with industry bodies and employers to foster strong, sustainable partnerships. The manager will provide Industry Engagement Leadership and lead industry engagement activities, ensuring that they are strategic, targeted, and impactful, along with Developing and implementing strategies to enhance industry participation and investment in ITI training programs. The manager is expected to work with industry bodies to create a framework for ongoing collaboration and partnership development.

Industry Relationship and Partnership Development: 

Identify and establish strategic partnerships with relevant industries and businesses at state and central level

Understand and document the current mandates the states and central departments (DET/DGT) have on IE so we can build on that

Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.

Document some of the good practices of industry engagement with ITI, state and central govt, so these can serve as model for replications

Facilitate regular communication between ITIs and industry partners.

creating opportunities for exposure visits for learners and educators & strengthen OJTs and Apprenticeship programs at ITIs

Restarting IMCs and strengthening PPP model in which industry can contribute better with ITI ecosystem and make ITI more aspirational

Support for Landscape study with research team and Training 

Curriculum & Training Alignment: 

Collaborate with industry partners to align ITI curricula with current and future industry requirements by working with state and central government and curricula bodies to suggest ways in which industry can contribute to better the ITI curriculum.

Ensure training programs are updated regularly to reflect technological advancements and market trends. 

POC Development and Implementation: 

Building Overall strategy for Industry Engagement and implement a Proof of Concept (POC) to showcase effective industry engagement models.

Monitor and evaluate the POC, making adjustments as necessary to ensure its success and scalability. 

Stakeholder Engagement: 

Organize and conduct workshops, seminars, and meetings with industry leaders, educators, and policymakers.

Act as a liaison between ITIs, industry partners, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and information sharing. 

Reporting and Analysis: 

Monitor and report on the progress of industry engagement initiatives.

Analyze data and feedback to measure the effectiveness of industry partnerships and curriculum alignment. 

Advocacy

Advocate for the importance of industry engagement in vocational training.

Create long term partnerships with champion employers serving as role models for the ITI learners

Promote the benefits of partnering with ITIs to potential industry partners.

Lead advocacy efforts with industry bodies and employers to drive the agenda of demand-driven training and greater industry involvement.

Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and forums to build and strengthen relationships with industry leaders.

Support Marketing & communication team to run campaigns and champion Industry Partners to inspire Industry to engage more with ITI 

Qualifications:

Education:  Masters in Social science or related fields.

Consolidated experience of 7-8 years

Proven experience in industry engagement, partnership development, or a similar role, preferably within the education or vocational training sector.

Previous background having worked with industry in partnerships and liasoning space will be helpful with industry bodies or Sector skills council or any other capacity

Possess a good industry network of employers and champions in the TVET space.

Passion for women's education and empowerment.

Experience working with educational institutions, particularly ITIs.

Knowledge of current industry trends and requirements

Familiarity with government policies and initiatives related to vocational training and women's education.

Demonstrated experience in advocacy and stakeholder management. 

Desirable Skills:

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Ability to manage relationships with Sr. govt. and industry officials

Event management and campaign skills 

Salary: The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 75,000/- per month (cost to company)
