Praajak in collaboration with Tdh Foundation is implementing a programme titled 'Kabaddi for Empowerment' in urban areas of Malda, Siliguri and Berhampore. The project will use Kabaddi to empower girls at risk of or effected by unsafe migration in West Bengal, India. The sports is a hook to encourage the girls' participation, self efficacy and agency. The project will then increase their knowledge and access to education / employment, and bolster their sports mechanism and community integration.
Major roles and responsibilities
1. Vulnerability mapping of adolescents (boys and girls between 12-18 years of age)
2. Mobilizing adolescents (12-18 years) at risk / effected by unsafe migration, to contribute to lobby and advocacy, and raising voices to the formation of adolescent collective groups
3. Strengthening the child protection system through effective liaison with W/VLCPC, schools and state and district level administration
4. Regular reporting and sharing of the experiences to the field coordinator / coordinator / psychosocial officer / documentation officer
Desirable qualification
1. Graduation with any discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience of working with children / child victims in the community
2. Working knowledge of English, Bengali and Hindi will be preferred. Very good reading speaking and writing skills in Bengali and Hindi
3. Basic computer skills - Ms. Word, Powerpoint, Ms-Excel, Emails
4. Good communication skills
5. Good understanding of local culture
6. Ability to work independently and meet timeline
Remuneration
14,000 to 15,000/- (based on experience). This includes travel and communication charges.
