About the Project
In Rajasthan, UNFPA is supporting the state government in strengthening the Adolescent Health Programme, which includes the two flagship Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) and the School Health and Wellness Programme (SHWP), to enhance availability and access to adolescent-responsive health services.
To further this mission, UNFPA has partnered with IPE Global Centre for Knowledge and Development (CKD) to implement Project Astitva in Rajasthan. This initiative will strengthen universal access to national adolescent health programmes and make them inclusive, reaching out to adolescents from Leave No One Behind (LNOB) groups, i.e., students with disabilities and those belonging to tribal communities, and unlocking additional resources towards transformative results.
CKD will work closely with the Directorate of Specially-abled Persons, Dept. of Education, and the TAD Department (Udaipur), establish a Project Management Unit and embed experts into these departments. Furthermore, CKD will review the SHWP curriculum and design high-quality life skills curriculum and session plans for adolescents with special needs. This will focus on the adolescent beneficiaries under the Departments of Education, Social Justice and Empowerment, Tribal Area Development, and Minorities. Working across these government systems, Capacity building of government counterparts is a crucial component of this initaitve. As a sustainable, CKD will establish partnerships with the private sector, philanthropic foundations, and bilateral agencies to unlock funding for SHWP in Rajasthan.
With a focus on Innovative life skills education, enhancing the capacity of key stakeholders and increasing access to government services, Project Astitva will provide increased Inclusivity and reach of adolescent-responsive services in health and education.
Job Description
Conducting learning needs assessment of disabled students and drawing insights
Analyze existing mechanisms and resources available for transacting SHWP curriculum to disabled students.
Providing inputs on tailoring the SHWP curriculum to be administered to different categories of disabled students.
Provide inputs on integration of assistive technologies and teaching methodologies to enhance the learning experience of disabled students.
Undertake training of teachers through cascade model of training for effectively transacting SHWP curriculum to disabled students using modern assistive technologies.
Qualification & Experience
8-10 years of experience
Experience of working with Children with Special Needs.
Educational Qualification: MSW, MPH, Masters in Sociology or relevant fields
