Position: Senior Programme Facilitator - Climate Action and DRE
Employment Type: Full time
The Senior Programme Facilitator will lead the initiatives around Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation at VAAGDHARA. S/he will be instrumental in strengthening programme planning, designing and its execution with indigenous community. Building capacities of community institutions, government departments, civil society networks, and other stakeholders will be essential. The primary purpose is to mobilize the collective strength of indigenous communities in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, facilitating a people-led transition towards climate resilience and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the climate change related programs in the organization and monitor their execution.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with the related Government Departments, ministries, civil society, technical agencies, and other stakeholders, working on climate change.
- Participate and represent in relevant forums on climate action and renewable energy and facilitate dialogue of community institutions with stakeholders.
- Build capacities of community institutions on Climate change actions and Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) and facilitate community engagement and participation in climate action and DRE initiatives.
- Provide technical support in establishing green energy enterprises, solar plants, solar grids, biogas plants etc.
- Design and deliver training, workshops, and capacity-building activities for stakeholders.
- Stay updated on state policies, regulations, and funding opportunities related to climate change mitigation and DRE and provide relevant information to the organization's leadership and team members.
- Travel to programme areas and interaction with field team members, tribal farming communities, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare state specific policy briefs, position papers, and reports to communicate the organization's stance on critical issues and present them to government officials and relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in relevant forums, conferences, committees, and working groups in the states to represent the organization's interests and contribute to policy discussions.
- Seek opportunities for resource mobilization, including grants, partnerships, and sponsorships, by leveraging the organization's network with government departments and agencies.
- Conceptualize, design and prepare plan for action research around renewable energy, green energy, climate change and others and support different units in undertaking action research.
- Contributing to report writing, blogs, policy briefs, and proposal writing.
- Spearhead policy analyses efforts required to be undertaken for building of a favorable eco-system with various stakeholders such as people’s organisation, community members, women collectives, media and national and international organizations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Environmental Science, Rural Development, Social Work, Agriculture, Social Work, Public Policy, Economics, Communications and others).
- Strong knowledge of Climate change adaptation, Renewable Energy and related aspects with at least 5 years of field experiences.
- Have a rich experience of implementing programs in field, with proven experience of atleast 5 years public relations, government department networking, preferably in the agriculture, climate action and others.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to analyse policy issues, identify trends, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Have rich experience of facilitating workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, stakeholders, and media representatives.
- Highly self-motivated, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
