Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual with strong problem solving and analytical skills to support the analysis and monitoring of SRESTHA Gujarat project. Successful candidates should have excellent communications skills, be able to function independently, be self-motivated, can thrive in challenging environments, and have a strong commitment to excellence. The Data Analyst will be responsible for data management, interpretation, and generating actionable insights to enhance health service delivery and governance.
Key responsibilities:
Data Collection and Management:
Collaborate with health program teams to collect and manage data related to the four result areas.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security during collection, storage, and processing.
Clean, manage, and analyze large data sets;
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns from the national/state database and share reports with relevant stakeholders at state and district team
Develop and maintain dashboards for real-time monitoring of key performance indicators.
Create and update reports/dashboards for various districts to analyze their performance
Input, update, compile and verify program related data from source documents in to custom designed template/MIS within required time frame
Review data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities, and checking output using various validation techniques
Data Analysis:
Conduct detailed data analysis using statistical tools to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in service delivery and health outcomes.
Analyze health program data to support decisions in improving RMNCAH, NCDs, mental health, adolescent health services, and outbreak responses.
Provide inputs into the development of predictive models for disease surveillance and early outbreak detection.
Translate complex data analysis into actionable insights and recommendations for public health programs, resource allocation and policy development.
Reporting and Visualization:
Create visual representations (graphs, charts, dashboards) of data findings to communicate trends, challenges, and results to program teams and decision-makers.
Prepare detailed reports to share with the Government of Gujarat and partner organizations on health service performance and quality of care improvements.
Program Support and Decision-Making:
Explore innovative ways to utilize data science and analytics to address emerging public health challenges and improve healthcare delivery systems.
Assist in decision-making by providing data-driven insights that guide programmatic improvements and resource allocation.
Collaborate with program teams to identify areas for improvement based on data findings and work on continuous performance monitoring.
Capacity Building:
Provide training and capacity-building support to district and state-level health workers and program managers in data analysis, management, and interpretation.
Develop user-friendly manuals and guides to improve data collection and reporting processes at the ground level.
Collaborative Engagement:
Work closely with the Government of Gujarat, technical experts, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment between data insights and program goals.
Contribute to inter-departmental meetings and present data analysis findings that inform policy decisions and programmatic shifts.
Qualifications & Experience
Post Graduate degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field from reputed institutes
5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the public health or healthcare sectors.
Familiarity with health service delivery data, including RMNCAH, NCDs, adolescent health, and disease surveillance.
Experience working with large datasets and generating actionable insights in healthcare settings.
Solid mathematical foundation and knowledge of a variety of statistical methods (e.g. regression, classification, clustering, experimental design, modelling, advanced forecasting)
Experience manipulating huge data sets and building statistical models, preferably within a health domain.
Must be possessing good communication skills in English & Gujarati/Hindi
Must be possessing good official and technical drafting skills
Must be conversant with use of basic statistical analytical software like SPSS, SAS, R, Paython, Power.BI etc
