Job Title/Designation: State Team Manager, Gujarat
Sewa International is a not-for-profit Trust with a mission to serve humanity in distress and nurture social impact institutions. It supports disaster preparedness, relief and rehabilitation activities leading to community resilience through long-term development programs. Sewa International undertakes intervention in disaster management, livelihood promotion, education, health, environment, and leadership development across more than 20 states in India.
Sewa International invites applications for the State team Manager, Gujarat position.
Location: Bhuj, Kuch District (Work demands extensive travel within Kutch, and about 10-20% of time elsewhere in Gujarat and the rest of the country
Reporting: Director-Programs-Sewa International .
Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience.
Role and Responsibilities :
• Work with Programs and Research teams in Sewa International for conceptualising and planning short and long-term projects in the state
• Implement various community development programs of Sewa International in Gujarat
• Facilitate periodic monitoring and evaluation of the projects, and present progress reports of the work
• Lead and guide a team for implementing the projects
• Coordinate with central team of Sewa International based in Delhi and Program Advisory Committee in Kutch
• Develop and maintain partnerships with various stakeholders in the state – including potential donor organisations, government agencies, CSOs, academic/research institutes etc.,
• Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans
Experience & Qualifications :
• Be in the age group of 35 to 40 years
• Post Graduation in Social Sciences (full-time education in a recognised university)
• Fluency in written and spoken English, Gujarati / Kutchi languages
• Minimum 8-10 years of post-education experience in implementing community development programs by working in grassroots NGOs
• Experience of at least 3-5 years in leading Project teams on the ground at the district /state levels
• Experience in liaison with donor organisations / CSR projects
• Thorough understanding of Project Management, and experience in planning and using PRA and other tools and techniques for community/rural development
• Extensive use of Windows and the following software applications: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Individual must demonstrate a willingness to take a hands-on approach and also be able to excel
• Ability to dialogue, and communicate at all levels and possess conflict management skills
Compensation :
As per the existing salary structure of Sewa International .
