The Parents as Early Teachers (PaET) Program
The PaET program aims to transform the mindsets of rural parents, encouraging them to actively contribute to their children's learning and development. We have successfully implemented the program in low-income communities around Pune since 2018 and are now expanding to rural Maharashtra using technology-based solutions. Our primary objective is to enhance the learning outcomes of preschool children and ensure 100% school readiness for those entering grade 1.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity for passionate social development professionals to join a dynamic organization making a lasting impact on early and elementary education in collaboration with the government. As a Field Project Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in leading the PaET program implementation within your assigned block.
Key responsibilities
Oversee the smooth and effective program execution, encompassing planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Collaborate effectively with ICDS officials, Anganwadi workers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure program buy-in and ownership.
Conduct regular program monitoring and reviews to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
Facilitate capacity building workshops for Supervisors, Anganwadi workers, and parents to maximize program effectiveness.
Prepare periodic work plans, progress reports, and impact assessments.
Foster a collaborative and transparent work environment, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing.
Uphold the positive image of Gyan Prakash Foundation as a socially responsible organization dedicated to improving education quality in Maharashtra.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Education, or a related field.
Minimum 2/3 years of experience working within the Early Childhood Education field, preferably in Maharashtra.
Proven track record in community mobilization, stakeholder engagement, and program implementation.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proficiency in Marathi and English (written and verbal).
Fluency in MS Office and familiarity with technology platforms is a plus.
Strong work ethic, dedication, and a commitment to social change.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned block.
Preference
A comprehensive understanding of the local context, including geography, culture, and community dynamics.
Strong relationships with local authorities including Gram Panchayats and influential individuals.
Connections with local organizations like NGOs, trusts, and unions to leverage their expertise and networks.
