ABOUT SAHAY
SAHAY is an Indian non-government organization with its presence in West Bengal. The organization was established in 1989. Today it serves 12350 most vulnerable children and youth (aged between 2-19 years) from underprivileged families, with a “holistic development” approach. The core focus areas of SAHAY are age-appropriate health, education, employment and life skills programmes.
SCOPE OF WORK/SERVICES TO BE EXECUTED BY THE CONSULTANT:
Key Deliverables:
Develop a deep understanding of the programmatic areas and frame the fundraising and communication strategy of SAHAY.
Implement fundraising and communication strategies for seeking new funding opportunities accordingly; searching new grant opportunities from institutional donors and corporate CSR.
Build the brand visibility of the organization in different communication platforms – print and visual.
Build relationships with Trusts, Foundations, Institutional donors, Private Sector CSRs and HNIs.
Develop grant proposals.
Support to organize offline/online fundraising and communication events.
Develop and manage relationships with donors.
Identify different fundraising trends.
Attend networking events and meetings with potential donors.
Ensure fundraising and communication practices are compliant with regulatory standards.
Contribute to organization’s strategic planning, as required.
Any other tasks or assignments as instructed by the management, according to organizational requirements.
REPORTING TO: Executive Director
PLACE OF ASSIGNMENT: Kolkata
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation/ Post-Graduation (Full-time) in Public Relations, Communication Management, Business, or any field relevant to the domain with at least eight (8) years of total work experience out of which five (5) years in Fundraising in the development sector (preferably in West Bengal).
Excellent networking skills to represent the organization at high profile events, with HNIs, corporates, government departments.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including donors, staff, board members and external partners.
Expert level written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong grant proposal writing and report writing experience.
Innovation skills: ideate and implement new ideas to achieve fundraising targets.
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage a complex, varied workload, able to plan and prioritise tasks.
Proven ability to achieve high performance goals within a fixed timeline.
Good IT skills specifically MS Office as well as familiarity with varied fundraising and communication platforms.
Experience of managing organizational social media presence.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Past experience in fundraising through digital/crowd funding platforms.
Demonstrated innovation in fundraising strategies or choice of fundraising modes.
Working knowledge of Hindi and Bengali.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Willingness to travel around 40% - 50% of time.
FEES: There will be fixed and variable components. We can also consider a fee-based consultant for this position. TDS will be deducted as per norms.
