Brief about the Program:
The Training equips youth with visual impairment on the much-needed IT skills along with communication required to survive and thrive in the mainstream work environment of today. It not only trains them for livelihood but also helps in opening avenues for aspirational roles in the future.
NAB India Centre for Blind Women and Disability Studies envisioned a dream of financial independence, increased self-worth and happiness for every blind girl in India. NAB India Centre for Blind Women is one of its kind Center for empowerment and rehabilitation of blind women in India. It is also the only center to conduct job mapping studies for blind in India. The Center provides training to both educated and uneducated visually impaired women with the objective of enabling them to gain employment, take up higher education and regain their career after a gap (if there is any, due to late onset of blindness). The Centre enables Livelihood Creation for the visually impaired (VI) women and men by empowering them with skills and training that help them lead a life of dignity and socio-economic independence.
Job description:
a. Training persons with visual impairment on computers with the help of speech software, including office tools such as zoom, google meet
b. Training them on the CCE core concepts basis a curriculum
c. Grooming them up on industry relevant communication
d. Training the trainees on multitasking, e.g. handling the phone and computers simultaneously, attending to queries etc. to equip them for the industry demands
e. Conducting job mapping in different companies/organisations to identify tasks feasible for visually challenged persons and upgrading the trainees on the new tasks.
