We operate in four states—Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat—encompassing 1,266 rural and tribal villages and 160 urban slum Anganwadi centers.
PROJECT DETAILS:
Maternal & Child Health Project is implemented by Action Against Hunger Foundation towards improving child nutrition-related practices in designated villages.
The Programme Goal is to contribute to reductions in children’s stunting and severe wasting by improving health, nutrition status and improving hygiene practices among pregnant, lactating mothers and children under five years through two objectives : Increase capacities of health and ICDS system to deliver improved nutrition services. - Improve essential health and nutrition practices among women and children by building knowledge, skills, and motivation and creating an enabling environment.
JOB SUMMARY:
The DMEO Officer will also be responsible for data collection/management using commcare, facilitation of commcare training, data triangulation, validation through field visits, desk review and data analysis using Tableau/Excel /SQL (Basic), data interpretation, data dissemination and overall data use by the program
Key responsibilities include :
• Ensuring project effectiveness through monitoring and evaluation
• Managing data collection, analysis, and interpretation using tools like CommCare, Tableau, Excel, and Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Conducting field visits, data triangulation, and validation
• Facilitating training and data dissemination to program team members
• Collaborating with HQ MEAL team to establish and manage MEAL efforts in the assigned district
• Fostering team integrity and coordination
• Supporting HQ-level data collection operations, with occasional direct involvement in critical components
The DMEO will play a vital role in ensuring data-driven decision-making and high-quality program implementation
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Assistant Manager, MEAL responsibilities include but does not limit to:
• Data Quality Management: Conduct data cleaning, identify and rectify outliers & discrepancies and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Conducting timely field visits and ensuring the data quality and integrity by data triangulation/validation.
• Reporting: Generate high-quality reports for key stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Data Backup and Security: Regularly follow backup protocols to ensure data safety.
• Tableau Dashboard Management: Update and share the dashboard with stakeholders, providing added insights and analysis.
• Data Summary and Follow-up: Prepare summary sheets, due lists, and conduct regular follow-ups.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve CommCare issues in coordination with program teams.
• Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions on CommCare data collection and Tableau data extraction.
• Data Extraction and Collation: Extract and collate data as required.
• Evaluation Support: Assist in evaluation activities, including exploratory data analysis, outlier identification, spot checks, and data coordination with consultants
• CommCare Application Management: Update and maintain the CommCare application as needed.
• Ad-hoc Tasks: Complete other tasks assigned by higher authorities in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree in a relevant field (Statistics, Social Work, Public Health Nutrition, Data Analytics) from a recognized university, with an exceptional academic record.
• Minimum two years of experience in leading monitoring and evaluation for large-scale projects or programs, with a strong track record of professional growth and responsibility.
• Experience working with monitoring and evaluation teams, with a solid understanding of data management, cleaning, and report generation.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools, including:
• Advanced Excel
• Tableau
• CommCare
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Experience with data quality assurance and control
• Data analysis and interpretation
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
• Experience with data management software (e.g., CommCare, Tableau)
• Basic SQL/BigQuery skills
• Experience with data connectors (e.g., Zapier)
