ABOUT SAHAY
SAHAY is an Indian non-government organization with its presence in West Bengal. The organization was established in 1989. Today it serves 12350 most vulnerable children and youth (aged between 2-19 years) from underprivileged families, with a “holistic development” approach. The core focus areas of SAHAY are age-appropriate health, education, employment and life skills programmes.
A. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, in consultation with the Executive Director and team, the program budgets in line with the organization’s mission and vision.
Support the preparation of strategic plans for the organization.
Prepare new grant proposals, presentations and concept notes for resource mobilization.
Proactively support fundraising efforts.
Ensure program documentation and reporting of the work to the Executive Director, including a critical assessment, and recommendations for improvements.
Drive implementation of approved grant budgets.
Collaborate with the team to design, review, update and create new programs, and drive effective, timely implementation in line with guidelines and protocols.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team, coach and mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Conduct regular visits to the communities and community centers to review and provide supportive technical feedback to the field team.
Carry out other program related administrative and operational tasks in collaboration with the Accounts team.
Research and keep updated on local, national, and international children and youth development trends.
Ensure high compliance and quality checks on all data collection and processing of program requirements/activities and carry out regular monitoring and review of the same. Promote data integrity at all times, in all program interventions.
Review program policies, guidelines, new initiatives etc. to continually identify lessons learned and facilitate corrective measures for program improvement.
Ensure child and youth appropriate message/content in all program-related correspondence.
Prepare monthly operating plan, variance analysis, and reports.
Develop proposals for projected savings to ensure efficient utilization of funds.
Identify manpower needs and support recruitment of relevant and essential staff members in line with the budget.
Identify and nurture alliances/partnerships with other like-minded or complementary stakeholders in the sector.
Support the team to ensure seamless coordination for donor visits.
Any other tasks or assignments as instructed by the management, according to organizational requirements.
B. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KEY SKILLS
Master’s in Social Sciences, Social work, Psychology, Development studies, Business administration or a related discipline from a reputed institution.
At least 10 years of total experience including 5 years senior managerial experience in atleast two (2) of the following domains:– children and young adults/health/education/skill development.
Experience of grant proposal writing and resource mobilization.
Knowledge of government schemes and programs for children and youth as well as relevant laws related to child protection, data privacy, etc.
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire trust.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, research, and documentation skills.
Good interpersonal skills with the proven ability to deal tactfully and build effective relationships with people across levels, both internally and externally.
Strong computer skills including MS Office applications.
Experience in effective planning, managing multiple priorities and driving timely and quality focused delivery in line with deadlines.
Proven analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify trends, and suggest improvements and innovations.

D. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience of working with a child or youth organization
Experience of reviewing and monitoring projects and collecting relevant data
Proficient in Hindi / Bengali
People residing in Kolkata or willing to relocate to Kolkata will be preferred.
Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel around 30-40% of time.
Compensation will depend upon qualifications, experience, skills and attributes.
