Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Project Planning and Strategy:

Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, considering the goals, objectives, and timelines set by the organization.

Work collaboratively with the team to create strategies that align with the NGO's mission and vision.

Team Management:

Lead and inspire a team of project coordinators, field staff, and volunteers.

Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members to ensure effective project delivery.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, government officials, partner organizations, and other stakeholders.

Represent Gubbachi at meetings, conferences, and other relevant events to promote project initiatives.

Budget Management:

Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and transparently.

Monitor expenditures, identify variances, and take corrective actions as necessary.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess project progress and impact.

Regularly review and analyse project data to make informed decisions and adjustments.

Reporting:

Prepare timely and accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Communicate project achievements, challenges, and lessons learned to ensure transparency and accountability.

Capacity Building:

Identify training needs within the team and implement capacity-building initiatives.

Promote learning and knowledge-sharing among team members.

Advocacy and Networking:

Engage in advocacy efforts to promote the NGO's mission and influence policy changes.

Build and maintain a network of collaborators and partners to enhance project impact.

Beliefs, Attitude, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

• Values collaborative ways of working, both within teams and external stakeholders.

• Ability to critically appraise on-ground situations, plan and respond appropriately.

• Strong negotiation skills.

• Good time management skills.

• Excellent written and communication skills in preferred language.

• Basic skills in MS Office, Google suite.

Qualifications and Traits

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Social Sciences, Development Studies, etc.).

• Proven experience in project management and team leadership, preferably in the NGO sector.

• Strong understanding of social development issues in India.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

• Languages must – English, Kannada, Hindi.

• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.

• Proficient in project management tools and software.
