Access Health International seeks two candidates for the role of Coordinator for the . Building on over 30 years of USAID investment, FHM Engage focuses on strengthening local health markets by addressing the root causes of market failures in the core market functions to create the necessary behavior change that catalyzes supply and demand and supports sustainable change.
In India, FHM Engage is working to improve gender equality and women’s economic empowerment by catalyzing market-based partnerships to improve access to women’s healthcare interventions which can enable young girls and women to continue their career aspirations. JOB SUMMARY
The State Coordinator will be responsible for implementing state specific activities to meet program objectives. Will work with manufacturers and marketing agencies representatives, along with project partners for facilitating interventions for distributors, pharmacies and healthcare providers to ensure availability and increase in uptake of contraceptives, including new generation OCP’s, Hormonal IUD’s, Injectables, Emergency Contraceptives. The coordinator should also be aware of PPP schemes supported by government NHM PIP where FP activities are included. This role involves coordinating, and overseeing respective activities implemented by FHM Engage and its partners in the state for improving access to modern contraceptives.
The State Coordinator will work closely with demand side agencies coordinating inputs with CSC Academy supported Common Service Centres (CSC), Women Livelihood NGO partners, local banks and NBFC agencies; and with marketing and promotion activities facilitated through partner manufacturers team, supply chain partners like distributors and pharmacies and health care providers, private sector healthcare facilities and other private sector partners to support program activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Health Care Provider Skilling and Partnerships:
Map list of healthcare providers (OB/GYNs, AYUSH practitioners, chemists etc.) for planning skilling/training sessions and CME’s on new generation contraceptives and LARCs.
Identify opportunities to collaborate with medical associations (NIMA, FOGSI), manufacturers state teams to organize and implement skilling/training sessions and CME’s for the identified healthcare providers.
Organize and implement effective skilling/training sessions and CME sessions in the State.
Support private clinics in organizing in-clinic promotion activities for increasing use of hormonal contraceptives; and plan for journey plans for mobile clinical outreach or clinics-on-wheels, where feasible
Facilitate better implementation of PPP schemes by identifying schemes and clinics where FP activities are included
2. Supply Chain Financing:
Work closely with FHM Engage Technical advisor and partner for implementation of this activity in the State.
Identify new prospective contraceptives distributors to facilitate supply chain financing for increasing the uptake and stocking capacities for contraceptives.
Support FHM Engage partner team in effective execution of activities by ensuring proper due diligence of the distributor, regular sharing of required documents and helping distributors in understanding the importance of this activity to improve their working capital.
Link with local retail banks, cooperative banks and NBFC operating in the areas which have financing schemes for SME
3. Availability of Family Planning Products:
Closely working with partner manufacturers state-based teams in mapping the list of distributors and chemists where their respective brands are promoted, and how to make them available in clinics for in-clinic and clinical outreach activities
Closely working with our Online demand side activities intervention partner in orienting and supporting its team for Pharmacy and Health care provider coverage in the state for onboarding to Nivi Chatbot and placement of QR codes for customer acquisition from facilities and referrals.
4. Offline Demand side Intervention activities Coordination with Implementing Partners:
Work closely with State SPOC’s of FHM Engage partner responsible for offline demand side interventions for effective implementation of activities through the CSC channel VLE and women livelihood NGO channel champions
Ensure effective orientation on FP methods, products for catchment community and a process to ensure referrals to providers through the implementing partners in the State.
Support implementation of user financing activities in the state by coordinating between implementing team responsible for orientation of champions and program participants and team responsible for explaining user financing features and benefits.
Track government supported insurance schemes where FP interventions are included such as PPFP, PAFP
Identify health institutions, communities for planning demand side interventions and user financing activities for these sites for increasing the targeted program participants reach.
5. Others Program related task and reporting:
Support market actors teams in identifying venues, logistics arrangement etc for organizing CME, training sessions, meetings, conferences.
Track program progress, gather insights, and report on key performance metrics on weekly/monthly basis.
Act as a liaison between state-level healthcare stakeholders, local government agencies and FHM Engage program partners.
Keeping track on other program activities implemented in the state for increasing access to contraceptives for possible collaborations, sharing learnings.
Refer and participate in state level seminars, conferences organised by other agencies/govt bodies for updated information on new strategies, policies planned for meeting objectives of the program.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Academic Specialization: Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing, Public health, Supply chain. (Master's preferred).
Experience:
5+ years of experience in sales and marketing of contraceptives, private partnerships, or project management in the healthcare/pharma sector.
Strong understanding of family planning, sexual and reproductive health, or pharmaceutical products.
Experience in managing provider skilling/training programs and distributor financing.
Working relationship with government agencies preferred
Prior experience working on USAID-funded development programs within the private sector market development context is strongly preferred
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Experience in working with multi-stakeholder partnerships like healthcare providers, financial institutions and manufacturers.
Strong analytical skills to monitor and evaluate program progress and impact.
Leadership and team management skills, i.e. ability to build good relationships at all levels and to be able to advise, influence and coach
Problem-solving skills to manage challenges in program implementation.
Communicates clearly and concisely in both verbal and written communications.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring a high degree of communication and ability to meet deadlines.
