Job Title: Consultant Civil Engineer

About Us:

Action Related to the Organisation of Education, Health And Nutrition (AROEHAN) is a not-for-profit organsiation working to bring about sustainable changes to the lives of tribal communities. We are currently working in the tribal blocks of the Palghar district in Maharashtra. Our work in water and soil conservation, agriculture and allied livelihoods, health and nutrition, education, sustainable technological solutions and empowerment of local communities has helped transform the lives of thousands of people across three hundred tribal hamlets in the Palghar district. We invite proposals from qualified and highly experienced professionals to work with us as Consultant Civil engineers and support our infrastructure development projects. Please note this is a part-time assignment that requires a commitment of 10 days per month for a year.

Responsibilities:

The Consultant Civil Engineer will provide technical expertise and guidance to our infrastructure development projects, focusing on water and sanitation, construction, and refurbishment activities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance and oversight to our infrastructure development projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations

• Conduct site visits and assessments to identify infrastructure needs and develop project plans and designs

• Develop and review project reports, including technical specifications, drawings, and budgets

• Guide the team for collaboration with local authorities, communities, and other stakeholders to ensure project success

• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in civil engineering, and apply this knowledge to inform project design and implementation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

• At least 5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in an NGO or development context

• Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices, with expertise in water and sanitation, and construction.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and familiarity with civil engineering software, such as AutoCAD or Revit, is an asset

About Company
