Consultant Position – Gender Specialist for Process Documentation

About LLF:

Language and Learning Foundation (www.languageandlearningfoundation.org) is a New Delhi-based non-profit organization with the vision of enhancing equitable student learning, especially language and literacy development, through the professional development of teachers and teacher educators, building/sharing knowledge, and implementing projects in collaboration with state governments. LLF currently works with 7 state governments across the country.

LLF has been running professional development courses and school-level intervention programs on early language learning for government school teachers, teacher educators (SCERT & DIET faculty members), academic resource personnel in 7 states, and working with the Ministry of Education and NCERT. These courses follow a blended and online learning model. Over the last year, we have developed various online courses in areas related to Early Language and Literacy, Academic Support, Multilingual Education, and Foundational Numeracy. To successfully implement the project, LLF is looking for a highly energetic and inspired group of professionals who will change the learning trajectory of the students of the district and create an example that the rest of the country can follow.

Position Purpose:

We are seeking a Gender Specialist for process documentation on a consultancy basis to lead and strategize the long-term organization and accessibility of documents across our organization. This role is pivotal in embedding gender equity principles into LLF’s documentation systems, ensuring these practices promote inclusivity, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across all departments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a long-term process document strategy to ensure efficiency, compliance, and ease of access.

Embed a gender lens in documentation practices by reviewing, revising, and promoting gender-inclusive language and practices.

Collaborate with the Gender Unit at LLF to standardize documentation processes across departments.

Ensure the integrity, consistency, and security of all documentation, leveraging digital documentation tools for efficiency.

Document success stories and organizational processes that reflect gender sensitivity and inclusivity.

Conduct capacity-building sessions for staff on gender-sensitive documentation techniques.

Manage document access controls, maintaining a balance between accessibility and confidentiality.

Requirements and Skills:

Proven experience as a documentation specialist from a gender lens or in a similar role, particularly in the education or development sector.

Deep understanding of gender issues and the ability to integrate them into documentation processes.

Proficiency in digital tools for documentation management, storage, and sharing.

Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills.

Keen attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication.

Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for documentation.

Relevant training and/or certifications in documentation or related fields.

A commitment to working with diverse and marginalized communities.
