About Us:
Society for Labour and Development (SLD) is a labour rights and support organization based out of the National Capital Region. Established in 2006, SLD has a pan-India footprint and primarily addresses the rights and aspirations of workers with an emphasis on women workers. SLD has a physical presence in seven states, but works throughout the country through collaborations with like-minded organizations. SLD's efforts extend beyond advocacy and awareness-raising, as we also provide direct support to workers, through a series of activities such as legal aid, psycho-social counselling, non-formal adult literacy programs and other skill development programs. Our action-research is directed towards the most relevant and challenging issues confronting workers in numerous industries of the global supply chain.

About the Role
The Associate - Programs will play a key role in advancing SLD’s work on in the fields of gender justice, labour rights and SRHR for workers, with a strong emphasis on ensuring effective leadership and management of SLD’s programmatic interventions in the said domains. The Associate will work closely with the Manager - Programs to develop and implement strategies, programs, and advocacy initiatives focused on improving access to sexual and reproductive health services and rights for workers, particularly young people/women, women and marginalized communities in low-wage global supply chain sectors.
The role requires a person with thematic expertise, passion in gender and sexuality rights and experience of engaging with labour rights in the context of SRHR. This position will be part of the SLD Programs team and will report directly to the Manager - Programs and matrix managed by the Associate Senior Manager Programs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Program Development and Implementation
Support in designing, planning, and execution of labour centric SRHR programs targeting workers in vulnerable sectors with a focus on promoting gender equity and reproductive health.
Develop programmatic materials, training modules, and awareness resources in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Engage and coordinate with community organizations, grassroots leaders and SRHR stakeholders to promote the implementation of program activities.
Research and Analysis
Conduct research on SRHR issues as they impact low-wage workers, including challenges in accessing reproductive health services and the intersection of SRHR with workplace dynamics.
Analyze trends and policies affecting SRHR, worker rights, and the gendered impacts of labour practices, especially in sectors where workers face multiple marginalities.
Track progress and evaluate the impact of SRHR programs by developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks.
Preparing periodic reports, impact assessments and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy
Collaborate with government agencies, civil society organizations, worker representatives, and healthcare providers to foster partnerships aimed at improving SRHR service accessibility.
Support advocacy efforts related to SRHR policies that impact marginalized workers, including creating advocacy briefs and organizing events.
Engage with stakeholders to drive the conversation on gender equality and reproductive health, specifically for vulnerable worker populations.
Capacity Building and Training
Conduct workshops and training sessions for stakeholders on SRHR issues affecting workers, emphasizing gender sensitivity, cultural competence, and rights-based approaches.
Build capacity of community organizations and SLD partners to support SRHR advocacy and service delivery efforts.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in social sciences, Gender Studies, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field.
3-5 years of relevant experience working on SRHR, gender, sexuality rights, and/or labour rights in a programmatic role.
Thematic Expertise: Strong understanding of gender and sexuality rights, labour rights, and the unique challenges faced by workers in accessing sexual and reproductive health services.
Skills:
Proven experience in project management, program implementation and stakeholder management.
Strong research, analytical and report writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in English and Hindi; knowledge of other regional languages is an asset.
Desirable Qualities
Demonstrated commitment to gender equality, workers' rights and social justice.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Flexibility to adapt in a dynamic work environment and manage multiple responsibilities.
Type of Appointment:
Contractual appointment with fixed term of 12 months. Renewal thereafter on basis of performance and requirements of project/SLD.
