Position: Finance Officer
Reporting to: Head of Finance and Administration
Location: Lucknow
Duration: Long Duration – with annual contract extension.

PACE is a civil society organization dedicated to empowering marginalized communities, with a focus on children's rights, women’s empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, and community development. With a strong presence in rural and urban areas, PACE ensures financial accountability and transparency across all its projects.
The Finance Officer will play a key role in ensuring the smooth financial management of the organization and adherence to donor compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
1. Budgeting and Planning
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and project-specific financial plans.
• Monitor budget utilization and variances, and recommend corrective actions.
2. Fund Management
• Oversee cash flow planning and ensure funds are available for operational needs.
• Maintain donor-wise fund tracking and reporting mechanisms.
3. Accounting and Bookkeeping
• Ensure timely recording of financial transactions in the accounting software.
• Reconcile accounts, including bank and ledger reconciliations, regularly.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all receipts, payments, and liabilities.
4. Audit and Compliance
• Prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with donor and statutory requirements.
• Address audit findings and ensure their timely resolution.
Reporting and Analysis
1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and donors.
2. Provide financial insights for decision-making by analyzing income and expenditure trends.
3. Monitor project budgets and prepare variance reports.
Donor and Statutory Compliance
1. Ensure compliance with donor agreements, including financial reporting, fund utilization, and documentation.
2. File tax returns and other statutory obligations, such as GST, TDS, and EPF, as applicable.
3. Stay updated with changes in financial laws and guidelines affecting the organization.
Capacity Building
1. Train program and administrative staff on financial management and donor compliance requirements.
2. Support partners and stakeholders in developing financial management capacities.
Qualifications and Experience
1. A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CA/ICWA qualification preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in finance management, preferably in NGOs or development sector organizations.
3. Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., Tally ERP 9, SAP) and MS Office Suite.
4. Knowledge of donor reporting requirements for agencies like UNICEF, ChildFund, or Andheri Hilfe, Azim Prem ji Foundation and international donors.
5. Strong understanding of statutory compliance (GST, TDS, FCRA, etc.).
6. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
