Job Description 

• IPE Global, a leading organization committed to improving public health outcomes and fostering community-based healthcare initiatives, is actively recruiting for a consultant position under the Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) program.
• Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) is dedicated to eliminating trans fats in India by supporting the enforcement of policy regulations, generating evidence to encourage healthier food choices, and advocating for the replacement of trans fats with healthier alternatives.
• The consultant will support RTSL’s trans fat elimination initiatives by focusing on policy enforcement, advocacy, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of trans fat reduction efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

I. Program Planning and Management:

• Work with the Senior Technical Advisor, Nutrition, to develop annual and quarterly work plans, track progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Participate in program planning meetings with the Resolve to Save Lives India and global team.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of specified activities, including meeting notes, project records, and stakeholder communications.
• Facilitate the organization of technical meetings, consultations, workshops and other events, including the development of related materials.
• Develop concept notes, proposals, and funding briefs to support new initiatives related to trans fat elimination.

II. Technical Support

• Support implementation of trans fat elimination activities, ensuring adherence to program objectives and timelines.
• Assist in developing technical materials, to promote trans fat replacement with healthier oils.
• Support the review and analysis of data related to trans fats in the Indian food supply and help identify gaps and opportunities for targeted interventions.

III. Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination:

• Coordinate with Resolve to Save Lives partners, government agencies, and industry stakeholders to implement trans fat elimination projects in India.
• Facilitate communication and regular updates with partners, ensuring alignment with program goals and timely delivery of project outputs.

IV. Advocacy and Knowledge Management

• Support in develop advocacy materials, policy briefs, to support trans fat elimination efforts.
• Assist in preparing presentations, technical reports, and publications that highlight progress and evidence related to trans fat reduction in India.
• Contribute to the development of communication strategies aimed at increasing public and stakeholder awareness about the health risks of trans fats and the benefits of healthier alternatives.

V. Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Support the development of a monitoring and evaluation framework to assess progress toward trans fat elimination targets.
• Track key indicators, compile data, and provide regular reports to inform program decision-making.
• Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of implemented interventions and recommend adjustments to enhance impact.

Qualifications & Experience

• The ideal candidate should have a background in public health, project management, food policy, or nutrition, with a strong track record in policy advocacy, grant management and experience working with government agencies, private industry, and community organizations. 
• The candidate should have strong project management skills and be capable of translating evidence into actionable policy and advocacy strategies.

Essential:

• Advanced degree in Public Health, Public Health Nutrition, Public Health Management, or a related field.
• 5-7 years’ experience in public health nutrition, or related area.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government, private industry, and community organizations.
• Excellent project management skills, with experience managing complex, multi-partner initiatives.
• Strong communication skills, with ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Skills & Desirable

Experience in collaborating with government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and international organizations in India is preferred.

Familiarity with the food industry and knowledge of supply chain management in the context of oil/fat/food production is desirable.
