Position: Senior Program Officer – PrEP Project Management

The organization is implementing a large-scale PrEP-related project aimed at expanding access, utilization, and awareness of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) across India. This project involves overseeing multiple Community Access Points (CAPs) and ensuring effective counselling and linkage to PrEP provider ,, and data reporting to achieve program goals.

Role Summary:

The Senior Program Officer (SPO) will provide strategic and operational leadership to manage 12 Community Access Points (CAPs) and a team of counsellors. The SPO will be responsible for ensuring high-quality project delivery, data collection, and reporting, with a particular focus on PrEP-related activities. The role requires expertise in public health, program management, and experience in implementing HIV prevention programs, specifically those involving PrEP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation and monitoring of PrEP-related activities across 12 CAPs.

• Supervise and provide technical support to counsellors and field teams to ensure quality service delivery.

• Develop work plans, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with the Technical Expert.

• Identify challenges in project implementation and devise corrective measures.

• Oversee the collection, management, and reporting of data related to PrEP uptake, adherence, and client demographics.

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to donors and stakeholders.

• Analyze program data to assess performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.

• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders including private PrEP providers to ensure smooth project implementation.

• Monitor the quality of services provided at the CAPs and ensure compliance with PrEP guidelines.

• Conduct regular field visits to assess program performance and provide technical guidance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Public Health with a background in medicine, Social Work, or a related field.

• At least 5–7 years of experience in managing public health programs, with a focus on HIV prevention and/or PrEP-related projects.

• Proven experience in supervising field teams, counselors, and multiple project sites.

• Strong understanding of HIV prevention strategies, particularly PrEP.

• Excellent data management and reporting skills; familiarity with tools like Excel, SPSS, or DHIS2 is preferred.

• Ability to manage budgets and work plans efficiently.

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Willingness to travel extensively to project sites as needed.
