ABOUT SNEHA
SNEHA is a secular, Mumbai-based non-profit focused on improving women's health to build stronger urban communities. With a team of over 450 members, SNEHA works in Mumbai's vulnerable slum areas, targeting key health stages like adolescence, pregnancy, and family planning to improve outcomes for women and children. The organization empowers communities and collaborates with public health systems to drive sustainable change. SNEHA runs 11 programs, including Maternal and Child Health, Empowerment of Adolescents, Prevention of Violence, and more, addressing both care seekers and providers.
ROLE
The Finance Coordinator will assist the Finance Consultant (Compliance) with statutory payments, filings, and compliance for Income Tax, FCRA, Charity Commissioner, donations, and grants. They will also manage record keeping, data storage, reconciliations, and ensure timely filing of compliance-related documents and financial records.
DUTIES
• Compliances: Ensure timely and accurate statutory payments, returns, and TDS filings (Non-Salary), along with ledger reconciliations.
• Income Accounting: Manage data entry for donations/grants, monthly reconciliation of income ledgers, and filing Form 10BD. Coordinate with the FR team for accurate accounting and record invoices/debit notes.
• Support to Finance Consultant: Assist in tracking donor due diligence for financial compliance and compile financial records for funder submissions.
• Audit Preparation: Complete donation/grant/compliance records and assist with internal and statutory audits, including collating data for financial statements.
• Other Tasks: Provide support for any additional finance tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
• Strong understanding of finance processes and proficiency in accounting/compliance databases.
• In-depth knowledge of compliance and statutory payments.
• Proficiency in Tally ERP 9/Prime, MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT).
EXPERIENCE
• We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in NGO compliance, including:
• A Master's degree (5+ years of experience) or Bachelor's degree (10+ years of experience) in Commerce/Financial Management.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounts or finance.
• Previous experience in the non-profit sector is mandatory
