Job Description

• Provide required support to FPOs to develop business plan to sustain the functioning of FPO and its activities in order to continue to provide services to its farmers.

• Establish linkages between FPOs and government agriculture department, horticulture department and seed & fertilizer companies to facilitate to mobilize resources

• Regular visits to FPOs, attending their directors meeting and extending support to maintain proper accounting & documentation.

• Providing required awareness and training to FPOs directors to ensure effective functioning and sustaining their business activities and to continue services to farmers.

• Identify target markets for ELS cotton, including textile industries, ginners, and other potential users.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as farmer producer organizations (FPOs), textile manufacturers, ginners, retailers, and cotton producers.

• Establish partnerships with government bodies and industry associations to understand the market for ELS cotton.

• Identify and approach potential buyers, both at local and national level to distribute the cotton and ensure better market price for farmer producers.

• Work closely with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery of ELS cotton to buyers.

• Conduct in-depth market research to identify demand for ELS cotton, market trends, and preferences of ginners in the market.

• Prepare and present reports on marketing performance, sales growth, market trends, and customer feedback to senior management and stakeholders.

• Provide feedback from the market to help in refining the quality or packaging of ELS cotton, ensuring it meets buyers’ expectations.

• Participating in the project monthly meetings, report writing and training to staff members

• Overall, the Marketing Officer's role for the promotion of an ELS Cotton Project involves a combination of strategic planning, market research, stakeholder management, promotional activities, and continuous monitoring to ensure the cotton farmers gain better market price in the market and establishing strong linkage with the ginners and textile industry.
