Project Summary

Pratham is implementing capacity-building programs for educators for their Continuous Professional Development (CPD). One of the CPD programs, supports out-of-school youth, in completing their Grade 10 education. They are taught by facilitators remotely or in person.

The program focuses on foundational learning, structured academic support, and life skills training to enhance learner engagement and success. A critical aspect of the program is strengthening the capacity of facilitators who deliver instruction and support learners.

Position Summary

The Trainer will be responsible for enhancing the teaching and facilitation skills of Second Chance facilitators through regular online training sessions, interactive workshops, and mentorship. The role requires strong pedagogical knowledge, experience in adult education, and the ability to train facilitators to deliver effective, engaging, and learner-centric instruction.

The position requires strong pedagogical skills, training, and subject matter expertise for any of the below cohorts.

- Maths and Science

- Social Science and Home Science

- English and Hindi

This position may involve occasional travel for in-person training and classroom observations to strengthen program implementation.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement a training plan for facilitators that is aligned with the program’s objectives and goals

- Conduct engaging and effective training sessions for facilitators, utilising various teaching techniques and tools

- Provide ongoing support to facilitators, including follow-up sessions, classroom observation, and feedback

- Adapt NIOS curriculum-based content (including lesson planning and teaching methodologies) to suit the needs of facilitators and learners in rural settings

- Pilot and refine training strategies based on facilitator feedback and classroom observations

- Evaluate the effectiveness of the training program and implement changes as needed

- Build and maintain relationships with facilitators, State Training and Content Associates, and other stakeholders

- Track facilitator participation and progress through training reports and feedback mechanisms

- Any other activities as per the requirements of the program

Required Skills and Abilities

- A Master's degree in Social Sciences, Science, Mathematics, English or a related field is a prerequisite

- A degree in teacher education course like B.Ed. or any other course will also be preferred

- Experience working with NIOS curriculum and open schooling models

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a target-driven work environment

- Experience in delivering in-person and online training to teachers, educators, and students, with proficiency in digital learning tools, online training platforms (Zoom, Google Meet), and technology-driven teaching methodologies

- Experience working in the education/development sector

- Fluency in English, and Hindi. Candidates with knowledge of other regional languages will be preferred

Working Details and Remuneration

- Remuneration will be commensurate to the candidate’s experience and will be within the range of INR 30,000-40,000 CTC per month

- The incumbent will be based in New Delhi and will have to travel regularly across the country
