Project Assistant - Patient & Community Outreach

Location: Mumbai

MOHAN Foundation is seeking a compassionate and self-initiated individual with a background in patient counselling, to join its Patient Support initiatives. This role focuses on providing emotional support to patients and their families, conducting educational workshops and raising awareness about the importance of organ donation. MOHAN Foundation is a 28-year-old NGO committed to promoting and enabling ethical and altruistic organ donation and transplantation in India. Through its patient support group initiative, TRIOMPH (Transplant Recipients of India and Organ failure patients – a Movement to Provide Hope), it provides education, support, awareness and advocacy for transplant recipients, organ donors and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

Organise and conduct educational workshops for patients and caregivers.

Facilitate regular Patient Support Group Meetings.

Deliver awareness talks on organ donation to community groups, schools,healthcare professionals and the public at large.

Develop and distribute informational materials to enhance patient and public understanding.

Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify and support patients in need of counselling services.

Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions and outreach activities; assist with reports and MIS.

Stay updated on the latest research and developments in patient counselling and organ donation.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

Proven experience in patient counselling or a similar role.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Passion for promoting organ donation and saving lives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in a related field.

Experience in public speaking or conducting educational workshops.

Fluency in English and Hindi

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
