We have a vacancy for a Senior Program Officer in Akshara, a women’s organisation

Key Responsibilities:

• Mobilising young women in communities for events

• Selection of deserving young women for educational scholarships

• Organising programs and conducting trainings

• Organising classes in basic computer and English skill building

• Helping in placing young women in jobs

Required Qualification and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s in Social Work or Social Sciences

• Experience of 3-5 years in the field

• Organizational abilities

• Good communication skills in Hindi or Marathi

• Computer skills in Word and Excel and ppt

• Have a gregarious and people oriented nature

Salary:

- According to Social Work college scales, experience and educational qualifications.

- Regular increments, medical and accident insurance, gratuity and benefits after confirmation

- Causal, Sick and Privileged Leaves

Akshara is a not-for-profit, Mumbai based women’s organisation and resource centre working for the empowerment of women and girls. Our focus is on education of young women and the elimination of violence. We train young men and women in understanding violence and taking social actions for its prevention and on doing advocacy with the police, transport authorities and govt. for a Safe City.
