Duration of the project: Till March 2026

Grade: B

Level Of Contact With Children: 2 – Sporadic or Occasional contact with Children The position holder shall be responsible to adhere & work within the ambit of Plan India’s Safeguarding & Gender Equality Policies.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Youth face several development challenges, including lack of access to technical education, vocational training and gainful employment. There is limited income earning opportunities for the Households in the target locations. The life or livelihoods have been severely affected due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The project will provide Job oriented Vocational Training to 2000 Youth ((18yrs to 29Yrs) neither in employment, education or training from the marginalized communities (Economically and socially weaker sections) who live in disadvantaged areas in Hyderabad and Mumbai to become economically empowered.

The project will also support 200 Households whose life or livelihoods have been severely affected due to COVID-19 pandemic by providing Vocational Training for Entrepreneurs Promotion (VTEP) and support to establish and operate market based micro-enterprise.

OVERALL ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Centre In – Charge will assume a crucial role in day to day operation of the Saksham Centre.

• Ensure overall operation and management of centre level activities.

• Conduct and maintain quality of training being delivered as per laid down norms of Plan India.

• Address day-to-day centre tasks, support mobilization team to plan and implement activities.

• Maintain close touch with students to provide guidance and mentorship to students.

• Conduct periodical assessment of students to analyse the effectiveness of training, manage/ analyse and control student attritions.

• Handle existing placement connection for youth after successful completion of training; explore new companies to get associated with the project.

• Organise job fairs, industry visits, campus interviews, OJTs, PTMs, alumni meetings.

• Counselling of parents and trainees on vocational skills at different level in the project.

• Conduct trainee’s enrolment and screening as per targets.

• Document and maintain records of handholding of the pass out students to start their jobs.

• Make workplace engagement compliance and data collation.

• Organise engagement of potential employer’s at various course of level, and, diligence.

• Documentation and record keeping in MIS and Files for enrolment youths in the centre.

• Organise and arrange guest’s lectures for youth from industry, and employers.

• Organize Virtual and Offline Donor Volunteer Sessions and

• The centre in charge needs to complete any tasks assigned by the Project Lead.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Education:

• Advanced university degree/post-graduation in Social science or related field.

2. Experience:

• Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience, with prior experience in managing skill building project.

• Experience in communication with a wider variety of external stakeholders including government officials, and representatives from civil society organizations/public sector etc.

Travel Requirement: 20% of the total time.
