Organizational background:

Aawahan “The New Voice” is a grass root level Non-Governmental Organisation which was founded in 2014 by a group of committed, enthusiastic and academic experts of the areas mainly concerned with extending and integrating the study of environment, Biosciences and socio-economic development campaign. Since the inception, it has worked across thematic areas including Livelihood, Social Inclusion, Women Empowerment, Health, Education, Environment Protection etc., with special focus on social and economic improvement and financial inclusion of poor and marginalized communities including women and young girls

Project background:

Aawahan The New Voice, in partnership with HCL Foundation, has been implementing a community-based project focused on "Strengthening Women Collectives" since 2021. The program uses a multipronged approach, including social mobilization, SHG formation for micro-credit, micro-enterprise development, and skill-building to promote financial independence and empowerment among underprivileged women in urban areas. Key achievements include the formation of Women SHGs and producer groups, Mobile Common Service Centre for e-governance, and the establishment of a Livelihood and Skill Development Centre. The project aims to scale and replicate its impact in diverse areas to benefit disadvantaged populations.

We are soliciting applications for the post of Computer Teacher to support the implementation of project intervention in Sarojini Nagar, block of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Contract Duration: 1 April 2025 – 31st March 2026 and beyond

Computer Teacher

Roles and Responsibility

• Prepare a weekly and monthly work plan detailing key activities, timeline and budget in align with program objectives and goal with focus on skill development.

• Operation and management of computer class including proper up keeping of equipment and computer devices with updated software, student’s records, and MIS documents.

• Facilitate the computer class for student’s enrolment in various courses being offered such as DCA, CCC, Tally, Assistant Computer Operator etc.

• Plan and design course curriculum in alignment with affiliated institutions like Jan Shikshan Sansthan, PM Kaushal Vikas Kendra etc.

• Formulate monthly /weekly creative engagement plan for enrolled students to inculcate creativity and enhance talent among them, and Social media visibility of activities undertaken.

• Design an assessment/tests tools and conduct monthly assessment of all enrolled students.

• Maintain a track record on the learning skills/performance of each student in both hard and soft copies.

• Maintain class decorum and dynamic while ensuring engaging facilitation of class.

• Outreach community including SHG groups, young girls, youths and women for social mobilisation for skill education including counselling and enrolment in computer class.

• Ensure to good learning atmosphere of class room and proper display of information on available courses and teaching and learning facilities.

• Ensure to job placement of student and maintain the required database of employers.

• Facilitate the interview process for interested employer at the campus.

• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, employers etc.

Qualification and experience

• Master in Computer Science or Social work or sociology with certificate course in Advance Diploma in Computer Education. Sound understanding and knowledge on Graphic design software with Corel DRAW Graphics Suite, InDesign etc.

• 2-3 years of teaching experience for promoting digital literacy, employability skills and micro-entrepreneurship skills in urban areas and Semi –urban areas.

• Experience in design and development of social media posts and handling Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

• Familiarity with government policies and programmes including social and welfare schemes.

• Strong communication including writings, speaking and documentation in English and Hindi.

• Ability to work in small teams, and flexible ways of working

• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting writing, case study compilation.

• Overall management capacity to monitor, report and guide the team under him/her.
