Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI):

ASCI is an autonomous body working under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), dedicated to enhancing vocational education and creating National Occupational Standards (NOS) for agriculture and allied sectors. Our mission involves promoting employment, facilitating government skilling initiatives and organizing Rozgar Melas in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

In past 13 years, ASCI has trained & certified approximately 1.4 million workforce comprising of farmers, wage workers, entrepreneurs and extension workers across Pan India under the different schemes and domain of agriculture and allied segments.

Job Description

The job requires the General Manager to handle the Business Development and operations pertaining to training and assessments projects

• Business Development & Fundraising:

1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities from Government bodies, CSR partners, and Private sector entities.

2. Develop and pitch proposals for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, fee-based models, and government schemes.

3. Establish and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders to drive revenue growth.

4. Contribute to strategic planning, client acquisition, and retention initiatives to scale operations and impact.

5. Liaise with funding agencies, donors, and sponsors to ensure financial sustainability of projects.

• Facilitation and Coordination with Training Providers (Government and Private) for timely uploading of data on the Skill India Portal.

• Customer Relationship Management (CRM) & Partner Relationship Management (PRM): Ensuring efficient execution of planned programs to achieve overall project goals.

• Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of training and assessment-related databases.

• Stakeholder Management: Spearhead liaison and grievance redressal mechanisms for stakeholders within the skill ecosystem.

• Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, analyze, and manage critical data/statistics related to the skill ecosystem to inform strategy and decision-making.

• Coordination with Government & Private Partners: Facilitate smooth on-ground implementation of training programs through close collaboration with relevant departments and stakeholders.

• Development of Manuals & SOPs: Prepare manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and reports as per scheme and ministry requirements.

• Portal Approvals: Review and provide necessary approvals for training delivery plans, courses, and scheme details on the Skill India Portal.

• Project Implementation Support: Provide operational and strategic support in the execution of Government, CSR, and fee-based skill development projects.

• Technical Specifications Development: Draft infrastructure, tools, and equipment specifications and ensure timely updates on the Skill India Portal.

• Real-Time Monitoring: Track and monitor training and assessments in real-time and report findings to authorities.

Key Performance Indicators and Competencies

• Strong Communication Skills and English language proficiency, both written and verbal

• Ability to handle complex assignment independently

• Excellent command on MS Excel and Power Point

• Meticulous, process oriented and attention to details with strong analytical abilities

• Plans, manages and drives own efforts to successfully deliver the output within stipulated time

• Fund Raising & Business Development

• Ability to work closely with fellow leadership team members, and brainstorm with them

• Excellent leadership and administrative skills, including ability to manage multiple programme at a time, without supervision

• Clarity of purpose and intent of working in the intersection of agriculture and vocation space

• Excellent planning and organizing skills and the ability to analyze complex qualitative and quantitative data, craft possible solutions and recommend actions

Educational Qualification

MBA/PG in Agri Business from premier Management Institutes IRMA/ MANAGE/ NIAM/ IIPM/ VAMNICOM / SYMBIOSIS or from Pantnagar or Central Agriculture University would be preferred

Experience (no. of years & kind): Last Date Minimum 15 Years of similar experience working in Agriculture related industries or National Level Developmental Organisations after Post-Graduation

SALARY: Up to 15 to 20 lacs (Commensurate with Experience)
