Assistant Project Coordinator (Gender Justice Program-Alipurduar)
About us - We are a youth-led and youth-run organization working in the space of women empowerment through skill building and livelihood generation with sustainability at its core. We work with urban and rural communities on awareness regarding personal safety education programs, sexual reproductive health rights, menstrual health and hygiene and capacity development by engaging local partners and community leaders. We work with adolescent girls and boys in schools to create a gender sensitive school environment and build confidence among the students.
Anahat For Change started operations in 2018. Since then we have been able to reach more than 4500 families across India. We are an organization working to build an equal environment for young girls and boys and helping them break the shackles of gender stereotypes and discrimination. We run two major projects- Unnati & Udaan in West Bengal. Unnati aims at promotion of menstrual hygiene management & sexual reproductive health rights with both male and female community members. Udaan aims to make gender based violence and discrimination unacceptable in several regions of Bengal by creating an agency for women and girls.

Project Location- Alipurduar, Madarihat block, Lankapara Tea Gardens
Designation-Assistant Project Coordinator
Experience- 3+ years in project management preferably in tea gardens with focus on adolescent health, community awareness, child protection and life skill education for adolescent girls and boys
The position is open for female candidates only.
Description- Candidate should be able to –
1. Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information in the field area.
2. Coordinating and creating peer groups of adolescent girls and boys living inside the tea gardens
3. Preparing and implementing life skill and confidence building curriculum with the peer groups twice every week
4. Preparing and implementing curriculum with focus on gender, menstrual and sexual reproductive health rights for young girls in tea gardens
5. Coordinating and capacity building of existing government stakeholders in order to reduce the impact of trafficking and child marriage in the area.
6. Community building session with tea garden workers on existing challenges of child marriage, teenage prognancy and school drop out of girls and boys
7. Handling project reports and MIS and reporting to funders and Anahat head office from time to time.
8. Visiting Kolkata Head Office for training, capacity building and project reporting.
9. Proper handling and maintenance of field office assets like laptop, printers and other amenities.
10. Maintain MIS regularly.
11. Conduct sessions with adolescent girls in schools.
Essential skills-
1. Candidates should be proficient in HINDI & SADRI as the community understands Sadri and Hindi.
2. Should be able to work in a team and manage of team of at least 4 people in Alipurduar
3. Preference will be given to candidates based out of Alipurduar district.
4. Candidates should have their own modes of transportation like a scooty.
Other requirements- Candidates should be open to traveling, should have their own laptop/device. Candidates should be proficient in English, Bengali and Hindi. Preference will be given to female candidates. Preference will be given to people who can ride scooty or bikes.
Salary- INR 22,000 per month (depending on experience) exclusive of travel allowance. (Non negotiable)
Accommodation- The candidate can choose to stay at our Alipurduar office (Birpara) but will have to arrange their own food.
Probation period- 3 months
The project will take 2 years to complete, and the candidate should be able to commit for at least one year to this project.
