‘Kiran – A Yara India Community Initiative’ is looking to hire a Field Officer with an experience in the field of Agriculture Development

Position: Field Officer, Agriculture Development

Type of Job: Contractual

Location: Babrala, Tehsil Gunnaur, District Sambhal, UP. Transferable if required.

Language proficiency: Hindi and English

Qualification: Graduate/Postgraduate in Agriculture

Experience : 2-3 years in relevant areas

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

Plan and implement agriculture-based activities (Overall coordination of the program) such as Soil and Water Conservation Initiative and watershed development activities, SRI, WRI etc.

Formation of Farmers Club/Farmers Association and channelise intervention through this institution.

Organize capacity building program to increase knowledge and skills of farmers – Organize farmers training on crops in different seasons such as Kharif and Rabi, take farmers to Kisan fair, organize exposure visit, Farmers Linkages with Govt. Agri. Programmes.

Manage beneficiary contribution – Collect beneficiary contribution and deposit in bank.

Demonstration Farm Management – Trial of seeds and seedlings distributed to farmers and observe/record production, produce strawberry, mustard, wheat, rice, sorghum, Napier grass etc. in the demonstration farm to see the production. Implement innovative projects in the farm.

Plan and implement the environment management program such as Solar based projects, Plantation, drip and sprinkler irrigation systems etc.

Responsible for managing the budget line. Ensuring utilization of approved budget as per plan. Submitting Narrative and Financial Report on monthly basis.

Lead a team of 2-3 people and guide and monitor the work. 

Coordinate with external stakeholders like Govt. institutions, universities, technical agencies and mobilize resources.

Data management and reporting – Prepare SRI and list of all the beneficiaries and project progress data.

Prepare PowerPoint presentation for the projects/ programs.

Competencies and Qualification

Graduate/Postgraduate in Agriculture with 2 - 3 years of work experience of working with NGOs/development organization/ any other institution working on agriculture.

Computer proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, and Power point) is must.
