SAAS Project:

Sparsha Trust is implementing the Saamuhika Shakti (SaaS) project to build a conducive ecosystem of learning, care, and protection for 12500+ children from waste-picking families and from other excluded communities of urban Bengaluru. We seek various personnel to implement the current phase 2, which proposes to have a long-term intervention to create a strong foundational learning ecosystem for children aged 0-6 years, creating learner friendly environment in schools for supporting children from 6-14 years and Life Skill education for adolescents (15-18 years) in the SaaS working geography.

Required: Communication Manager

Job Summary:

The Communication Manager will be responsible for supporting the reporting manager in the implementation of a communication strategy and plan for the organization. He/ She will help to establish and maintain effective communication for the organization, using a wide variety of methods, platforms and tools, bringing in innovations to reflect our position as trend setters in India and beyond and to improve overall efficiency. Ensure that production of communication material is of communication standards and in line with the Sparsha brand guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Line Manager –to establish and maintain effective communication for the organization, using a wide variety of platforms and tools.

Developing communication material including newsletters, fact sheets, brochures, photo essays and audio-visual material, while ensuring its archival.

Responsible for producing high quality communication products like various reports, documents, designing and printing of IEC/ resource materials, audio visuals, case stories, fact sheets etc.

Identify and engage with vendors through the procurement dept. to ensure timelines are met.

Support to manage a system to archive communication material, in a way that it can be accessed by staff easily.

Facilitate editing, translation, printing and dissemination of communication material.

Support in training & workshops – media and communication, including design, content and photography/video development.

Maintain a database of consultants/vendors for developing communication material, films etc.

Carry out field visits to collect case stories and program outcomes.

Collection of photos and video footage to support the development of case studies, reports and other program documentation.

Supporting the Coordination and facilitation for documentation and reporting with external stake holders

Participate in capacity building of staff, partners and children (child champions)

Support communication and documentation with stakeholders.

Help to collate and provide updates for website/social media.

Write/edit content stories, reports and case studies.

Provide need-based support to strengthen communication capacity at the state-level & across programs.

Plan and celebrate events, showcasing and strengthening the Project activities.

Develop Brand enhancing material to improve visibility of the Organisation activities.

Identification and training of children, interested and capable of Photo journalism.

Be available for any other work for the organization as assigned by the reporting manager. 

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Communication is preferred. Individuals with Masters in any other degree but have very good experience in Communication can also apply. 

Experience:

2-5 years job experience of which minimum 1 years of experience in the Social Development Sector

DESIRED PROFILE:

Strategic Thinking & Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze information, evaluate options, think and plan strategically, with a good understanding of Child Rights issues and related sectors.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; excellent report writing and presentation abilities, with proficiency in IT tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Community Engagement & Sector Knowledge: Deep understanding of socio-economic, cultural, and political issues, along with a demonstrated ability to connect with community-based organizations and apply innovative communication strategies such as community radio or theatre.

Adaptability & Commitment: Willingness to travel independently to remote areas, work under pressure for extended periods, and stay committed to Sparsha’s mission and values.

Salary CTC will be Rs 45,000 to Rs 50,000

Languages: Proficiency in reading and writing both English and Kannada is mandatory
