Job title: Field Coordinator – SHG program

Kriti is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes skills training and livelihoods for women and education of children. We have been working in Hyderabad slums since 2009. Kriti is working on skills training for women and runs vocational training centres such for teaching tailoring, hand embroidery, beautician courses etc.

We are also running a self help group program in old city of Hyderabad. We currently have over 400 women who are part of the SHGs and are regularly saving and borrowing with the SHGs.

A full time field coordinator is required for managing the field activities. They will have the following responsibilities:

Mobilisation of women for group formation:

- Identifying suitable slum areas within our area of operation

- Making area maps to plan group formation

- Doing door to door mobilisation of women to explain about SHG concepts and motivate them to join the group

- Complete the group formation formalities after training the SHG members thoroughly on SHG concepts

- Each field coordinator will have target for minimum number of group formation every month

Conducting SHG meetings

- Each field coordinator has to maintain upto 20 groups and conduct twice monthly meetings for the groups

- group discipline has to be maintained and timely attendance tracking, collection of savings and collect loan repayments. Meeting minutes to be maintained in register that is held with group leader.

- Any situations of members not attending meetings or delaying their repayments or savings have to be highlighted to the project manager and issue should be resolved after discussion with group members.

- Data entry of the group meeting data has to be maintained in MIS software without any mistakes or discrepancies

Conducting training programs and other activities related to the SHGs

- monthly SHG leader training meetings

- bank account opening for new SHGs

- loan utilisation checks for SHGs that have received revolving fund loan

- home visits for new groups that are formed

Promotion of livelihood activities for the SHG beneficiaries

- promote enterprise development especially in lac bangle production

- any other activities related to livelihood generation

Skills/qualification required

- Bachelors degree in social work or related field

- 1- 2 years of experience of working in the field with the marginalised community

- Experience of conducting surveys

- Good computer skills and ability to maintain records on the computer

- Strong communication skills in Hindi / Urdu

Compensation: 18,000 per month fixed compensation + variable linked to target achievement.
