Position Overview:
We are seeking an IT and Systems Head to lead the Trust’s information technology strategy and manage all related hardware and software systems across our healthcare facilities, including general and eye hospitals. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth functioning of IT infrastructure, aligning technology solutions with organizational goals, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. IT Strategy and Leadership:
Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and strategies to support the Trust’s healthcare and outreach programs.
Lead the IT department, managing both internal and external IT teams to ensure seamless operations.
Ensure IT systems align with the organization’s mission of providing quality healthcare services to underserved populations.
2. Infrastructure Management:
Oversee and manage all hardware, software, and network systems.
Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of the Trust’s IT infrastructure, including data servers, hospital management software, and cloud-based systems.
Lead efforts to upgrade, repair, or replace outdated hardware and software as needed.
3. Data Management and Security:
Manage hospital data systems, ensuring compliance with data protection laws and standards.
Ensure secure and efficient use of the patient information system, medical records, and data analytics tools.
Oversee the backup, recovery, and disaster recovery protocols for critical systems.
4. Coordination with External Agencies:
Collaborate with external software vendors, consultants, and service providers to integrate and optimize third-party applications and services.
Ensure seamless integration of the hospital’s IT systems with external agencies, government portals, and healthcare databases.
5. User Support and Training:
Provide IT support and troubleshooting for hospital staff, clinicians, and administration.
Develop and lead training sessions to enhance staff competency with IT systems and new technologies.
6. System Upgrades and Digital Transformation:
Spearhead digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving patient care through telemedicine, electronic health records, and automated patient management systems.
Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for their adoption to enhance hospital operations.
7. Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with healthcare IT regulations, including data privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA or applicable regional regulations).
Prepare reports and presentations for the senior management team, tracking key IT metrics and performance indicators.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
5+ years of experience in IT management, with a strong focus on healthcare IT systems.
Proven track record of managing IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and security systems.
Experience in managing healthcare software systems (e.g., hospital management systems, patient record systems).
Knowledge of data management and data security best practices.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in coordinating with external software and hardware vendors.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud-based systems and telemedicine platforms.
Understanding of healthcare IT compliance, including patient data protection.
Familiarity with hospital or healthcare ERP systems.
Ability to drive digital transformation initiatives.
Certification in IT management (e.g., CISSP, ITIL, or equivalent) is a plus.
