Reach India Trust has been promoting demonstrable and replicable models for capacity building across different geographies focusing on young girls in the age group of 10-19 years and women’s self-help groups (SHG’s). The organisation focuses in the east and northeast including in Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Sikkim & West Bengal.
About the Project:
Reach India Trust with support from its corporate partner Tech Mahindra Foundation is currently implementing a program on vocational skill building for unemployed and marginally poor youths. The program known as SMART promotes market appropriate skills for youths mobilised from urban slums, provide 4 months course to them, grooming them for interviews and with support of employers assist them to gain better employability options.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Preferably Graduate in the field of Arts or Social Work
• Masters in Arts or Social Work can also apply
• Should be have basic computer knowledge well conversant with MS Office (MS –word, Excel and Power point)
• Should be fluent in Bengali and Hindi. Should be able to conversate in English
Compensation: CTC – Upto INR 1.8 Lakhs per Annum.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To identify the new location of slums in and around Kolkata where the middle level educated youth including women of the poor families are available and they have the need to gain employment for improvement of their economic status.
• To prepare a strategic plan in coordination with the Centre Manager to make need assessment of the youth of the poor slum localities.
• To make sure of the door to door house visit of the poor families, location wise in Kolkata
• To call them in a focus group discussion (FGD) and give project orientation for them on the facilitation and opportunities that they may explore a gainful employment.
• To make sure that the parents are invited in the same FGD for necessary counsel prior to the selection of potential candidate.
• To ensure the target candidates and enroll their names with full address including pin code and mobile no along with E-MAIL-ID, if available, in a separate sheet of paper in the meeting.
• To meet the potential employers to ascertain that the trained candidates are placed in suitable employment.
• To make sure for preparation of profile of each selected candidate in format and keep them as office record in the VTC.
Report writing and Documentation:
• Documentation on the social mobilization of the centre as Reach India initiatives
• Develop case studies and preparing communications materials as per TMF model
• Coordinate for project documentation for the Tech Mahindra Foundation
• Coordinate, implement and documentation of the social mobilization processes with the support of other staffs, if any.
