LBCT was founded in 2000 under the vision and guidance of Lady Bamford to support children and empower nearby communities, especially women, around the JCB factories in India. It started off with initiatives on education in one government school in Ballabgarh, Haryana. Over the last 20 years, the work of the Trust has evolved keeping in mind the needs of the communities it works with.
Working on three broad objectives namely, Education, Employable Skills and community Engagement, LBCT’s interventions are primarily focused on improving the education of children enrolled in government schools; empowering women group through the Self-Help Group (SHG) model and providing skill training to the community with a special focus on women, to promote their economic empowerment. Besides these interventions, LBCT also supports awareness initiatives related to health, nutrition and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for All). The Trust works on these initiatives across four states- Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra and continues to engage with communities on their evolving needs and issues, all the while focusing on its three key objectives.
