Salary: 11 to 12 lakh per annum (all inclusive)

The mission of the organization is to nourish lives, empower communities, respond to emergencies and grow the movement towards ending hunger. While meal packaging and provision of nutritional food remains one of the signature programs of Rise Against Hunger India, sustainable livelihood and food security programs have also been implemented in 9 aspirational districts across 4 States (Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand). Similarly, urban adolescent nutrition programs are being developed in some cities.

Functional Summary:

The Field Operations Manager will oversee the implementation, project execution, and field-level coordination of various programs, including rural nutrition and food security programs, grant projects, and urban programs. This role is responsible for supervising the Cluster Managers, Grant Project Managers and ensuring that the implementation team operates efficiently and effectively across two geographical clusters.

Areas of Responsibility

Team Management and Mentoring: Provide leadership and support to the entire field operations team, including Cluster Managers and field staff, ensuring effective management and smooth operation of programs.

Project Execution: Ensure that all projects are executed on time, within scope, and within budget. Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise. Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process by bringing field insights and planning project estimates ahead of time.

Field Coordination: Coordinate field activities to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives. Facilitate communication and collaboration between field teams and other departments.

Program Development Support: Based on community level mapping and requests from field partners, organize data and provide inputs for developing concepts notes, proposals. Provide timely inputs from the field for donor RFP submissions.

Program Expansion: Support the development and implementation of new programs, including emergency response, grant projects, and urban programs.

Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively to ensure that field teams have the necessary tools and support to carry out their tasks.

Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the performance of field staff and programs. Implement improvements and corrective actions as needed.

Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit regular reports on field activities, project progress, and any issues or challenges encountered. Facilitate documentation of success stories, case studies, outcome documentation for dissemination among internal and external stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with local stakeholders, including community leaders, beneficiaries, and partners, to ensure successful program implementation and foster positive relationships.

Compliance: Ensure that all field operations comply with organizational policies, donor requirements, and relevant regulations. Conduct on-site checks and verification of implementation process.

Capacity Building: Identify and address capacity-building needs within the field operations team to enhance skills and effectiveness.

Meal Packaging Events and Utilization of Meals: Assign team members to participate in and facilitate meal packaging events as and when required. Ensure effective coordination with partners and stakeholders involved in meal distribution process. Ensure timely submission of reports on meal utilization.

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s degree in any development discipline with 10 years of development work experience

Donor management and grant program implementation experience

Proven experience in field operations, project management, or a similar role.

Strong leadership and management skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
