Project Coordinator

Function:

This position is to facilitate the overall implementation, capacity building, planning and monitoring aspects of the project for the partner organization.

Responsibilities:

A. Coordinate with CF, CAVE and Finance team for better implementation of project activities.

B. Facilitate SHG, PMC and PIMC meetings in the project

C. Responsible for monthly/quarterly/half-yearly project progress.

D. Facilitate communication, timely flow of resources and inputs between partner organization and regional Heifer offices/projects for smooth implementation of project activities.

E. Coordinate with Heifer Program Officers/Regional Manager to ensure compliance with project related policies and procedures

F. Prepare consolidated project progress report and submit to Heifer Regional Office

G. Manage and maintain PPMIS (Project Planning and Management Information System) and reporting documents

H. Assist the project team in various trainings, field visits to farmers, exchange visits and study tours etc.

I. Act as a team motivator in the partner organization team

J. Perform other job-related duties as required in the project such as sharing case studies, conducting surveys, assisting the Heifer team in the field etc.

K. Seek continuous growth in knowledge of Heifer international programs and hunger and poverty issues

Education and/or Experience:

Graduate level university degree or equivalent in rural/community development and a minimum of 3-4 years of experience is required. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all of these basic requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

a) Have an interest in animal agriculture/community development

b) Proficient in Hindi, English and regional language, both spoken and written

c) Excellent organizational skills including strong attention to detail

d) Ability to produce accurate documents.

e) Computer proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, electronic mail and Internet (Microsoft preferred)

f) Motivated to work responsibly

g) Excellent leadership qualities and communication skills

h) Ability and willingness to work with a flexible schedule

i) Ability and willingness to travel extensively in the region.

j) Demonstrate a high degree of honesty and integrity

k) Ability to promote and maintain a spirit of unity, teamwork and cooperation

l) Sensitivity in working with multiple cultures and beliefs, and for gender equity

Salary- 30387/-per month

TA-Travel allowance will be paid only on submission of actual and original bill up to 3039/- per month.

The Centre for Advanced Research & Development was established in India, with Head Office at Bhopal in the State of Madhya Pradesh. CARD started by developing a strong grassroots presence in some distinct regions of Central India; namely, Gond -predominant eastern tribal region (Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh), plateau region of Malwa - agriculturally rich central India Feudal region, and Bhil predominant western tribal region, in pockets that had high incidence of poverty among scheduled castes, backward classes, and tribals. Poverty alleviation and other rural development initiatives were started in these pockets of poverty. We made a limited beginning but successfully created opportunities for livelihoods promotion. Later CARD started operations in Haryana, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh, reaching out to thousands of deprived households with field offices at around 27 locations across India. CARD’s expertise is its action research on development issues, and studies range across different developmental themes, covering the whole of India. The management of CARD is in the hands of committed professionals who make an exciting mix of youth and experience.
