Senior Consultant – Healthcare Technology (Health Technology Assessment)
National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) has been set up under the National Health Mission (NHM) as an autonomous registered society, to channelize technical assistance and capacity building support to the states for strengthening the public health system. The NHSRC is also mandated to contribute to health policy / programme design and evaluation.
Since its inception in 2006, NHSRC has been a repository of knowledge and a center of excellence for its agenda. This organization has professional linkages with a plethora of domestic and international bodies involved in the field of Public Health. There have been a number of personnel who have served with NHSRC and gained invaluable experience enabling them to graduate to next rung of professional ladder. Vast exposure to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and its processes is a unique feature of NHSRC.

The position offers you an opportunity to participate in the process of strengthening health systems, improving health service delivery and enabling positive health outcomes, through hands on implementation assistance at National, State and District levels. Working with a transdisciplinary team, you can discover, adapt, co-create and disseminate solutions to multiple challenges related to service delivery systems, universal primary health care, human resources for health, community processes, health financing, quality of care, public health planning and health promotion. This is an opportunity to support health systems strengthening at scale, learn from district and sub district implementation, undertake knowledge translation, and enable realization of the vision of universal health coverage.
This Position reports to Advisor-Healthcare Technology and is on Contractual basis.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Undertake studies for economic evaluation of emerging new technologies.
• Undertake systematic review & meta-analysis for preparing quality research paper for publication
• Should be well versed with research methodologies
• Undertaking literature review on healthcare technologies
• Collecting information on efficacy of technologies based on published data from trials, studies and product package inserts.
• Framing the model parameters and conduct primary data collection for the research
• Analysis of data/market research on technology costs and pricing
• Review of safety aspects of technologies based on secondary literature
• Review of legal, ethical and social impacts of healthcare technologies
• Writing of Health Technology Assessment Reports
• Undertake other assignments, which may be assigned from time to time in the division or required by Executive Director, NHSRC
Competencies and Experience:
• Holding M.SC Degree/PG degree in Health Economics or certificate course in Economic Evaluation for Health Technology Assessment from reputed college/universities
• Additional qualification of Master in Public Health & experience in working with government research bodies like ICMR is desirable.
• Experience on Health Technology Assessment including systematic review and health economic modeling (Minimum 5 years post qualification)
• Published work in the area of health technology assessments or Economic evaluation.
• Computer proficiency with high level of familiarity with commonly used packages like MS Word, Excel, powerpoint & Web surfing to search relevant data & documents.
• Good communication and presentation skills, excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Knowledge in Health systems development desirable.
• Willingness to travel to states & districts to collect technical information and ability to subsequently synthesize information into research evidence.
Age Limit: 50 Years (maximum age will be counted from the last date for receiving the applications). Age will be relaxed to experience candidate up to 5 years.
Work Location: New Delhi; Opportunity to gain hands on experience of public health canvas of states and districts. Travel to states and districts will be involve.
Remuneration Range: Between Rs.90,000/- to Rs. 1,50,000/-
*Fee offered within the band will be commensurate with qualification and experience
Other Benefits: In addition to the remuneration mentioned above, Consultants of NHSRC are entitled to Free Accidental insurance, Subsidized Medical insurance, Mobile bills reimbursement, Laptop reimbursement (As per NHSRC Policy), 30 days Consolidated leave, fully paid Maternity leave (For Female Consultants) as per Government of India policy, performance linked increments, TA/ DA and per diem for on-duty visits.
Duration of Contract: Initial Contract till 31st March 2026 (with further extension subject to satisfactory performance)
Candidates selected in this interview could be considered for other vacant positions at NHSRC requiring similar skill sets and at appropriate level.
