NLR India is certified for the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) in 2004 and received tax exemption under section 80G of IT Act, 1961. In addition, NLR India is a member of the International Federation of Anti-Leprosy Associations (ILEP). It works in eight states, namely, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and West Bengal.

Duty Station: New Delhi

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer

Manager Business Development will be the organizational lead for business development (BD)/ resource mobilization (RM) through institutions and individuals.

Key roles and responsibilities

• Identify and create new funding opportunities from Government, Corporates, Foundations, High-net-worth individuals and Philanthropists both national and international

• Build and coordinate new partnerships leading to concrete fundraising results

• Develop business cases for future funding together with other colleagues

• Set up and coordinate project teams and consortia during the proposal development stage

• Develop high quality project proposals for foundations, governments, multilaterals and other organisations, together with technical, programmatic and financial team members and where applicable other consortium partners

• Develop/ update strategy for BD/RM within the scope of NLRIF work priorities

• Develop detailed annual plan for BD/RM

• Be the lead contact on RM for the organization

• Supervise and mentor the BD/ RM team and interns

• Engage other NLRIF staff in resource mobilization activities

• Work in close coordination with the NLRIF communication team particularly for strengthening the brand value of NLRIF; engaging NLRIF Brand ambassador and Champions

• Coordinate with the BD/RM team of NLR International Office and other NLR Alliance partners

• Define and practice innovative methods of online and offline fundraising

• Ensure excellent donor stewardship for online and offline of individual giving

• Support project leaders in their donor stewardship activities

• Coordinate with the finance team in accounting of the donations and issues of timely receipts and tax exemption certificates

• Manage third party agencies for RM for individual donors

• Identify and recognize RM champions working for NLRIF BD/RM

• Any other task assigned by the CEO

Qualification, experience & skills:

Education: Post-graduate degree in Business Administration or Marketing, and allied disciplines.

Experience & Skills:

• At least 8-10 years of experience in BD/RM from Government, Corporates, Foundations, High-Net-Worth Individuals and Philanthropists both national and international

• Proven track record in RM of at least INR10 crores in a year

• Established network with government departments, institutional donors, high-net-worth individuals, CSR heads, philantropists and popular personalities interested in NGO work

• Proven ability of writing winning concepts and proposals

• Excellent communication and presentation skills for donor cultivation and stewardship

• Excellent written and spoken English; and at least workable knowledge of Hindi and one more Indian language

• Computer skills: proficiency in MS Office, internet and web-based operations

• Hands-on attitude wants to get things done

• When the pressure is on, keeps his head cool and remains accurate in his/her work

Type of Appointment

Contractual appointment with fixed term of one year. Renewal thereafter on basis of performance and requirements of NLRIF.

Remuneration

Compensation will be based on experience and qualification.
