POSITION: Social Worker

LOCATION: Bhatinda/Ludhiana/Srinagar/Bangalore/Chennai/Delhi/Mumbai/Jaipur/Udupi/Mangalore/Bhubaneshwar/Gorakhpur/Lucknow etc.

No of Position: Multiple positions at different locations (PAN India)

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Cankids National Outreach Program aims to deliver Cankids models for Change for Childhood Cancer in India and Holistic family-centered care to children with cancer and their families across the country. NOP strives to go “wider” and “deeper” to achieve the CK vision of global survival rates of 70-95% for childhood cancer in India and to ensure the quality of life for child cancer patients, families, and survivors. We aim to

1. to improve Survival Outcomes to global standards,

2. to provide quality of life to the child and family throughout the cancer journey and

3. to secure the Rights of the health-impaired child with cancer to health, education, her childhood, Pain free and palliative care as well as the Right to be heard.

The department delivers, 2 Access to Care models of Cankids -

a) Cankids Hospital Support Unit Projects -Improving Access to Care by partnering with cancer treatment centers to provide the best standards of treatment care and support for children reaching the center for treatment.

b) Change for Childhood Cancer State Project - Improving Access to Care by partnering with the State Government and all relevant Stakeholders.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

To manage the partnership between Cankids and the treating teams. To coordinate and supervise the social support team working at the Cankids Hospital Support Unit (CHSU). All regular reporting of the CHSU project to Cankids and the treating team. Flagging any issues/ emergencies/gaps in the CHSU project to the Cankids management and treating team. Manage the overall patient relationship management system (V-CAN) of Cankids where applicable. To manage the relationship with other NGOs working in the CHSU and work in collaboration as required by the treating team.

KEY RESULT AREAS/DELIVERABLES:

• Ensure all the administrative work related to the CHSU is maintained including MOUs, and donor management.

• To ensure that all the targets for the CHSU are being achieved.

• To manage all the reporting- monthly, quarterly, and yearly and data management of the unit.

• To manage the imprest of the unit and ensure all the bills/ vouchers are being processed in time.

• To supervise all the activities done by the social support team including the maintenance of the registers, files, and imprest at the unit.

• Coordinate with the hospital administration and treating team for any awareness/ forums and celebrations being conducted in the unit.

• To raise and help resolve any issues/ troubleshooting at the hospital along with Cankids and the treating team.

• Be the liaison between other NGOs and Cankids in the hospital.

• In case of absence of a social worker to manage all the medical support for the patients in the unit.

COMPETENCIES/ SKILL SET:

• Good understanding of social issues.

• Must be patient, resilient, and calm in a crisis, displaying a warm and empathetic disposition and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life of children.

• It should be computer efficient.

• Must be flexible, be able to adapt to new roles, tasks, and situations, and have the ability to think and act on own initiative.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• MSW/BSW in Social Works/Public Health

• Candidates should have 1 to 4 years of experience as a Social Worker with an NGO is essential preferably in managing a Health Program.

SALARY: CTC up to 30,000/- per month.
