Position: Field Mobilizer – State Facilitation Centre (Delhi-NCR)

Target Areas: East Delhi, North East Delhi, Ghaziabad and NOIDA

Janpahal seeks to recruit experienced and committed colleagues to join the Delhi NCR State Facilitation Centre of India Labourline (ILL) as Field Mobilizer. The India Labourline is a phone and field-based programme to provide information, counselling, distress support and legal aid to workers throughout India. It is also a powerful Grievance Redressal Forum to address labour rights violations faced by all categories of waged and self-employed workers in the construction, factories, urban services, Garments & Textiles, farm work, street vending, and other sectors. Delhi NCR State Facilitation Centre of ILL helps hundreds of workers resolve their wage disputes and ensures that they do not lose their rightful earnings to fraud and theft. ILL is a network of civil society organizations working on labour issues across the country.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Field Mobilizer, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to connect with and support workers. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Community Outreach: Engage with workers across East Delhi, North East Delhi, Ghaziabad, NOIDA and other areas of Delhi NCR to build awareness about their rights and the services offered by India Labourline.

• Relationship Building: Foster trust and long-term relationships with worker communities, unions, and other stakeholders.

• Information Dissemination: Conduct sessions to educate workers on labour laws, safety measures, and workplace rights.

• Case Identification & Referral: Identify workers facing disputes or grievances, collect relevant details, and coordinate with the facilitation centre for resolution.

• Case Registration & Follow-ups: Register worker cases on the Management Information System (MIS) and ensure timely follow-up updates to track their progress and outcomes.

• Data Management: Document outreach activities, maintain records of interactions, and provide regular updates to the team.

Desired Skills & Experience

• The ideal candidate should have the willingness to conduct outreach activities as per the time of availability of workers in the target area and attend and make calls as required.

• The ability to counsel workers and engage with employers calmly in high stress situations and have good listening skills and patience in dealing with workers.

• Mediation and conflict resolution skills to resolve disputes and conflicts between workers and employers / contractors.

• Experience of working in labour and other rights based civil society organization programmes / projects will be a major advantage.

• The programme requires and expects that the Field Mobilizers will enhance their skills and competence by studying labour laws, Labour policies and schemes, as well as other resources on labour issues. Capacity Building training and resources will be provided.

• Basic computer skills for data updates and documentation purposes are mandatory. Basic Excel skills are essential.

Other Requirement

• The candidate must have active driving license with two-wheeler Bike/Scooty.

Language proficiencies:

• Fluent in Hindi is essential and ability to read and write basic English is mandatory.

The remuneration for the Field Mobilizer will be 3.16 lakhs p. a.
